Perfect viewPosted Aug 3, 2017
Pros: The view and position
Cons: Online booking information getting through to the staff correctly
Location: Easy walk into central Darwin and eateries, easy drive to Litchfield NP (an absolute must do!)
Booked a 4 night stay online, selecting a sea view, for the final few days of our holiday. I was excited to enjoy a bit of pure comfort in a big two bedroom space with a deck to enjoy the view. However on arrival we were given a room on the ground floor that didn't have a view at all, was noisy compliments of the hotel and back packers out the back and was a complete let down. Reception did promptly set things right but not until the next night as no rooms were available that night. The proper room was everything I was anticipating. The annoying thing was that staff blamed the fact I booked online 'in future book directly with us' etc etc. I almost always book online, working full time it's just easier and you can get some great deals so what is purchased online should be what you get. A bit surprised we didn't get some sort of discount on the first night. But, I would stay there again as the view was great and everything was clean and comfortable.

Incompetent staff, what the hell is "Mantra +"Posted Jul 3, 2017
Pros: Great to celebrate NT day! With a room facing the esplanade you have a continuous fireworks display from dusk to 10pm! Get yourself a drink, sit on th
Cons: They need to seriously address staff training!!!
Location: Esplanade, take a rickshaw to the marina.
On check-in, I was pestered and pushed into subscribing to "Mantra +", which, at a quick look, provides free WiFi, special deals and late checkout at 12 noon! The free WiFi worked ok, but was considerably slower than my 4G, so I used that instead... One evening I wanted to order room service but was always redirected to reception. Eventually, the lady at reception gave up and just took the order. After over one hour, I called room service again and they admitted that they received the order but forgot it. When the order was finally delivered to the room, the girl said it would be free because of the unacceptable delay. 5 minutes later the phone rang and reception said that the order would only be 50% off and a bottle of wine. On the last day we had a late afternoon flight out, so we wanted to spend more time in the room... At 10:15 reception called "when we were going to check out", so I had to remind them that we were "Mantra +". I think it is fair to say that everybody in the hotel from page boy to manager is totally incompetent and not able to fulfill their duties. They had no training, have no idea of customer service and, most importantly, have NO MANNERS at all!!! It was a very uncomfortable stay with several and numerous annoyances!

Extremely well located for just about everything!Posted Jun 25, 2017
Pros: The hotel was well located, free wifi if I joined and the harbour views from our window made us want to get out there.
Cons: The bathroom was rather outdated but functional.
Location: Extremely well located with everything on your doorstep.
The Mantra on the Esplanade has lots going for it, although it is not a luxurious hotel. It has lovely views of the harbour, by exiting through the back, you can walk straight into Mitchell Street and the transit bus terminal in seconds, great for tours and pick ups. There are great breakfast places close by that offer more gourmet choices and variety rather than the hotel buffet, which offers a continental and full breakfast, which is traditional and basic. There are lots of pubs, top restaurants, tourist information centre, local buses, a double decker hop on and off bus, lots of shops, movie theatre and we even managed to walk to the wharf area on 2 occasions, which is about a casual 40 minute walk each way. There are young backpackers offering tuc tuc lifts back to your hotel in the evening and night if it all becomes too much at the end of the day. Highly recommend the Mantra on the Esplanade as a launching place to everything a tourist would like to experience in Darwin.

Great room. Want aware no service on public holiday and extra charge for sheets due to Eco saver. No car parking for busy period. Landcruiser too high for underground park
Excellent hotel , great locationPosted Jun 14, 2017 on Hotels
Excellent hotel overall . I loved the citrusy fragrance in the foyer area . Very comfy bed . Nice views of the water and sunset from the front rooms . Great location . Delicious breakfast buffet . Only minor complaint is only one lounge chair in a king room for two which is something that happens in a lot of hotels unfortunately

Great room.Posted Jun 5, 2017 on Hotels
We had a great room. Nice kitchenette. Having a laundry was fantastic. Darwin city isn't big and this place easy walking distance to the party strip.

Very good placePosted May 21, 2017 on Wotif
Good location, might be loud if your room is facing Mitchell St, mini bar, breakfast and room service
