What a lovely stay and memories we made staying in Dubrovnik. Tonko was super helpful and friendly , nothing was too much trouble for him to settle us in quickly. The apartment was spotless and was thoughtfully equipped. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we stayed at the property and he gave us a bottle of bubbles and his wife made us a delicious cherry strudel which was so kind and unexpected. Would definitely stay here again , thank you!

Amazing !

Our stay here was fantastic ! We can not speak highly enough of Tonko and Tanja, they are the most wonderful hosts, from the property and its anenities, to their personal involvement in assisting with tours and local knowledge.We felt welcomed and enjoyed our "Million dollar view" so much ! Photos of this property are accurate to every detail , in fact the real thing is even better ! Our first trip to Dubrovnik was just perfect.

Awesome Vacation

We were so thrilled with the hospitality that Tonko and Tanya exhibited throughout our stay. They were very generous with their time to make our vacation extra special. We have never experienced such wonderful attention during any of our previous trips. The apartment was perfectly located and was very clean. We would not hesitate to stay there again and will recommend it to our friends.

Perfect apartment - world class view

The apartment is perfectly located with a short walk into the old town, also a short walk to a lovely local beach. The apartment was light and airy with fantastic views from the balcony. Thanks to Tonko and his wife for their generous hospitality. We were welcomed with drinks and during our stay had offerings of home made cake, a delicious snack and local wine, and lemons from the garden. Tonko was extremely friendly and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. A wonderful stay.

Fantastic host and apartment

Tonko was such an amazing host - thank you for your warm welcome. The apartment was perfect for our family, well equipped and comfortable. The view from the balcony was spectacular! Only a 10-15 minute walk into the old town of Dubrovnik, and 10 minutes to the beautiful beach of Saint Jacob. Highly recommended.

Amazing Place

Apt is very nice. Well located (just 15/20 on foot from old town), well equipped, in a very quit and beautiful neighborhood. The view from the balcony is wonderfull ( old town, sunset, sunrise and Lokrum island). Tonko is superfriendly, received us personnly (with welcome drinks) and gave all tips and infos we need. Tonko and Tanja are lovely hostess. Was a perfect stay in Dubrovnik and we'll come back.

My adult son and I had a wonderful stay at Tonko's apartment. Tonko and his wife are very warm and welcoming and the apartment is beautiful Tonko went above and beyond to orient us and to help us out in any way that he could. This was a wonderful place with breathtaking views and the most kind, generous hosts. Thank you Tonko and Tanja for sharing your special place with us. Next time we will stay longer!!!!

Wonderful

We had such a wonderful stay !!! The property is in the most incredible location away from the busy old town but close enough to walk there easily . The view is incredible!! Tonko was incredibly friendly and very helpful . He showed us where to go in the town and had great recommendations for eateries and sights . It was very comfortable and it was very clean . Not too many stairs which was nice . His wife was lovely too . I highly recommend this stay

Nice apartment - World class view

The apartment was easy to find and Tonko met us and helped us. He was very thorough in explaining everything over a glass of wine which he kindly provided. The apartment overlooks the bay and old city and the views are simply breathtaking.

6 stars vacation

Everything was amazing. Let’s start with the apartment: clean , modern , perfect view of the sea , close to old town , fully equipped. The owner , Tonko, was super friendly , helped us with parking , cooked food for us , advised us about our vacation , even gifted us great home-made liqueur. There are great swimming spots near the apartment and Dubrovnik old town and the nearby islands have plenty to offer. We had 4 full days of perfect joy and if you are lucky to book this apartment you will definitely enjoy your stay like nowhere else.

Tonko set the stage for a great trip with his communications when we initially booked his apartment. Upon arrival, we couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome.Tonko was friendly and informative. The apartment was perfect. A beautiful view with a lovely evening breeze blowing through a unique and spotless home away from home. Ideally located with the old town a healthy walk away. Family stay

The property in my opinion is perfect for visiting the old town and beach. The view couldn't be better. The apartment living space is super comfortable along with the bedrooms. The hosts are marvellous giving all the advice and welcoming in every way, from the boat ride to lunch on the balcony and arranging our taxi to the airport. The late check out gave us 1 last time to visit our favourite swimming spot below the apartment. Yes there are steps but with the view you get from the balcony they are well worth it. I would highly recommend this apartment. Clean, great location, comfortable and great hosts.

Fantastic

Our hosts Tonko and Tanja were fabulous, throughout our stay. Tonko brought us a welcome drink and vegetable’s from his garden and Tanja brought us lovely cake and pancakes on our last night. The apartment is very well equipped with everything we could possibly need and the views over the sea to the old town from the apartment balcony are stunning with many hours being spent there watching the boats of all sizes coming and going. The building is situated in a really nice part of town and is only 15 minutes or so walk to the old town. We had a wonderful holiday.

Lovely stay just outside Dubrovnik

We just ended a lovely stay with Tonko and Tanya. They couldn’t have been nicer to us. The apartment is just like it looks on the website. Great views of the old city and the water. It is very well equipped and extremely clean. tonko picked us up at the airport (and drove us back) which was very convenient. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the old city from there on a very pleasant walk, We would definitely recommend this place. Also if you are staying longer so want to do cooking it’s very well set up and you couldn’t have a nicer view from your dining table.

Great apartment, great hosts

The apartement has a great view and is located only a 10 minute walk away from the old city. The apartment has everything you need and is very clean and cosy. Tonko and Tanja are very nice people and will help you in any possible way (even when you desperatly need to watch a football game ;). Their hospitality is outstanding and they make you feel, as if you're part of the family :) If we will return to Dubrovnik, we will definitaly stay with Tonko and Tanja again.

Absolutely amazing

We could not have asked for a better place in Dubrovnik. Tonko greeted us with open arms and made us feel like we were at home. He is amazing!!! He gave us the perfect tips on what to do and where to eat. The view is absolutely stunning and the location is perfect. Located right above a cute little beach with a cool cave that makes you feel like you found a secret. We loved that we could look at the island, the old town and the beautiful ocean from the veranda. The walk into old town was lovely. There is a market a restaurants nearby. Tonko, you are the best!!!

A Perfect Honeymoon

We would give more stars if possible but 5/5 is all that is allowed. This property was phenomenal and everything we were looking for. Waking up each morning with a view of old town and the island was beyond expectations. Tonko was an incredible host and were extremely kind, respectful, and helped give us the perfect experience on our honeymoon. Everything from arranging rides to and from the airport, to telling us the local history and how he grew up in Dubrovnik. He also setup a personal guided tour with his daughter in law. Well worth it to get the full rich history of Dubrovnik and really feel immersed in its culture and history. We look forward to going back there when we are able to visit Croatia because of how wonderful Tonko made everything.

Stunning location, great apartment, and wonderful hosts!

The Brailo apartment stay in Dubrovnik was the highlight of our three-week vacation! The location and views from the apartment's balcony are stunning, and my husband and I spent many hours just sitting and enjoying the incredible scenery. Photos of the apartment on the website do not do it justice. The beautifully furnished and well cared for unit is only about a 10-17 minute walk from grocery stores, a bakery, and the Old Town of Dubrovnik itself. My husband had a cold when we first arrived in Dubrovnik and Tonko and his wife, Tanja, gave us some Theraflu from their own supply. A couple of days later, they helped us celebrate my husband's 74th birthday with delicious home cooked food, an apple cake, and a bottle of champagne. We felt pampered, well cared for, and thankful that Tonko Brailo and his wife were so generous with their hospitality and thoughtfulness.

The best apartment we have ever booked

The hosts Tonko and his wife Tanya were extremely hospitable, providing all the essentials, a glass of wine on our late arrival and preparing a delicious meal for us after our first week. Tonko was always approachable and available for advice. Nothing was too much for him. He arranged airport transfers, he took us in his car for some shopping the day after we arrived and arranged a reduced price tour of the Old City with his daughter in law Natasha. She was a fantastic guide being full of detailed local knowledge about Dubrovnik and its fascinating history. They provided excellent restaurant recommendations. The apartment itself was extremely well equipped including an espresso coffee machine, dish washer and plentiful supply of crockery etc. It was spotless and comfortable with a view from the balcony to die for. It overlooked the Adriatic looking towards the island of Lokrum and the very historic Old Town of Dubrovnik. We normally explore new places each year but we are seriously considering returning to this gorgeous apartment next year.

Couldn't Have Asked For A Better Experience!

I wish that we could give more than 5 stars for our stay at Tonko and Tanja's apartment in Dubrovnik. Everything was fantastic!!! We loved Dubrovnik and a lot of it had to do with our rental experience. From the time that we booked our stay, Tonko's communications with us were extremely timely and helpful. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. The view from the balcony is outstanding. We relaxed every morning and evening on the balcony enjoying the beautiful view. The location is only about a 15 minute walk from Old Town and close to a fantastic beach with a restaurant/bar. Tonko arranged for a tour of Old Town for us guided by his extremely knowledgeable daughter-in-law, Nataša. She was fantastic and gave us SO much information that made the rest of our time exploring on our own more meaningful. I could go on and on, but basically we felt like we were staying with family. We can't wait to go back again. Thank you Tonko and Tanja. You made our visit to Dubrovnik truly memorable!

Fantastic location, Dreamy Views, Spectacular Hosts!!

Without a doubt, our visit to Dubrovnik was amazing because we chose this property. Tonko and Tonja are the very best you could ask for in VRBO hosts: Available, responsive, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, invested in your happiness, and fully-committed to helping you enjoy all that Dubrovnik has to offer. Tonko arranged airport pick-up for us so we had no problems getting to the apartment which was immaculately clean, thoughtfully equipped, beautifully decorated and full of natural light. And the view. There are really no words to describe how perfect the view from this property is. From the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom, there are spectacular views of the sea, the island of Lokrum, and the Old City. Every day the sunset is beautiful in Dubrovnik and the balcony of this apartment is an amazing place to enjoy it. Tonko is native to Dubrovnik, loves his city, and is more than happy to suggest and help you plan activities. We took advantage of his connections to take a wonderful walking tour of the Old City. Our guide, Tea, was native to Prague and gave us a wonderful tour, covering the ancient history of the city and the region, the culture, the war, and even some fun Game of Thrones trivia. We spent 10 days in Dubrovnik, loved every minute of it, and, should we be lucky enough to return, we would not hesitate to stay at Tonko & Tonja's again.

Unbelievable. Just unbelievable.

My wife and I had the good fortune of staying here for two nights. We wish it had been a week. This one bedroom, one bath apartment is everything you could want: a full kitchen, air-conditioning, heat, washing machine, clothes lines off the deck balcony where clothes dry in less than 30 minutes, an easy 15 minute walk to Old Town, 2 small grocery stores within a 5 and 10 minute walk respectively, and killer views of the Adriatic Sea and Old Town Dubrovnik from the cozy balcony where we spent much time mesmerized by the views. However, if you are taller than 5’9”, you will have to duck your head in the shower as the roof slopes. The apartment is located in the “high rent” district. Tonko and Tanja live downstairs, and he is always available for assistance, recommendations, and rides to and from the airport for the cost of his gas money. He is retired but she still works. All that pales in comparison to the royal treatment we received from Tonko. His hospitality, kindness, friendliness and compassion are second to none. Tonko is a fun loving guy with a constant twinkle in his eye. And he was always quick to reply to my many emails and he speaks very good English. We can’t wait to return.

Perfect Stay in Every Way

Tonko and Tanja are excellent hosts so kind and welcoming, really genuine lovely people. They went out of their way to welcome us and help with all of our needs. The apartment is perfectly located away from the busy town but within easy distance. The old town is about a 10 -15 minute walk from the apartment or there is a bus that runs every half an hour until late into the evening. The bus stop is very close to the apartment. The apartment is well equipped for long or short stays and the balcony has stunning views over the sea, with Dubrovnik town in the near distance (very pretty with the lights at night). A couple of beaches are accessible from the apartment by walking down steps. We really recommend it and are planning to return soon. Thank Tonko & Tanja for a lovely stay. Diane & Rob
