“This is a wonderful hotel, staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are large and well furnished and the breakfast menu is excellent served in a lovely restaurant. The restaurant also served delicious meals at lunch and in the evening. The only way this could be improved would be to add a gym please.”
“Unfortunately another disappointing night at the Inn. Went for a meal, again staffing issues with chefs resulting in quite a few things not being available. I thought there was a wedding function going on as every now and then loud music would blast through the restaurant area but it was just the music coming from the kitchen area as the doors swung open and closed. Sadly in need of a makeover.”
“This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area.”
“Shame previous owners let the hotel go to disrepair as it was a wonderful place.
100% respect to the new owner who is doing a great, time consuming task (without the help of planning department) to bring this Hotel/Restaurant back to the great place it was.”
“Easy to find near Dumfries and a nice break into Scotland at the start of our journey. Room was clean and comfortable, and we had the one nearest the ramp so didn't have to climb steps. Room was a bit dark, but easy to move around in, and had sufficient power outlets so we could charge our phones without a problem.
Dinner was very good and the owner introduced me to a new ale that i hadn't tried before... great recommendation!
We also found out he was the local postmaster, and let us confirm……
