"Hotel was ok. Looking and bit tired and walls paper thin so quite a lot of noise from other rooms. Good location, staff friendly and food was nice."

"We stayed in a dog friendly room and paid £25 extra for the night. I assumed that would go towards deep cleaning. Sadly not the case. The beverage area had previous splashes from drinks over the surfaces, the mugs were stained, mini bar fridge had crusted dried food on the shelf, bathroom tiles had dried toothpaste marks, towels were verging on threadbare. In fact, the towels we use for our dog are in better condition. The upholstered chair in the room had thick dust around the buttons and the rug underneath the bed was so suspect that you’d be brave to walk on it with bare feet. Just glad we only needed to stay for one night. The receptionist was very helpful, particularly because the safe in the room didn’t work and outside was great beside the river for a drink. It’s a shame some effort couldn’t have gone into room cleanliness."

"Very disappointing stay. I stayed at this hotel during an extreme heatwave, with outdoor temperatures exceeding 30°C and reaching as high as 34°C. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in my room did not work at all, despite being set to 16°C. The room became unbearably hot, making it very difficult to sleep. Reception was unable to offer a room change and only provided a small fan, which simply circulated warm air. I spent several nights sweating and struggling to get any proper rest. The hotel later acknowledged that there were issues with the air-conditioning system, but no effective solution was provided during my stay. As a result, I was forced to check out four nights early and book another hotel at my own expense. The difference was immediate: the new hotel had fully functioning air conditioning and a comfortable room temperature, allowing me to finally get a good night's sleep. I understand that maintenance issues can happen, but the lack of a working air-conditioning system, alternative accommodation, or a satisfactory resolution made this a very disappointing experience."

"Impossible to contact hotel-tried for over an hour before eventually getting through on a mobile. Restaurant closed. Have to book in via online system no more than 3 hours beforehand to get access to car park and room including govt approved documents-I was driving down from Manchester so impossible to do before arriving-expected to park on road to do so! MAJOR road! Customer service utterly useless/refused to pass me on to a manager! Online systems didn’t work for booking anyhow. Didn’t stay in the end ( total loss of confidence in hotel/staff/ systems etc.) went somewhere else. SHOCKING!"
