Featuring a private pond complete with a dock for fishing and swimming, a firepit, an outdoor shower, a hammock, and even tree swings, this secluded Castleton home is just what you've been hoping to find for your next getaway with friends and family. Inside, you'll find two furnished living areas, cool tile floors, and lots of attractive furniture and decor. After an invigorating hike on one of the nearby trails or a tour of the neighboring orchard, come back to stretch out on a spacious sofa to watch a good ballgame on the flatscreen cable TV. The full kitchen has all the stainless steel appliances and counter space you'll need to prepare something wonderful for tonight's home-cooked meal. Serve your guests at the dining table with seating for five while the little ones chatter away from the kids' table. Afterward, let the dishwasher knock out all the cleanup while you adjourn to the deck to catch up with friends. You'll love the furnished deck's covered table for five, and the kids can romp around on the grassy expanse surrounding the home. Don't worry about grass stains - the private washer and dryer will keep everyone looking their best during your stay. After some time in the pond, you can easily spritz yourself off under the outdoor shower. When evening falls, gather the gang around the firepit for an evening of toasted S'mores and some fantastic stargazing. At the end of the day, you'll have four well-appointed bedrooms to snuggle up into, the lower-level primary room with a spectacular views from an entire wall of broad windows. With Killington Ski Area and lots of fun outdoor activities like biking, zip-lining, rock climbing, and tubing to enjoy all around you, this home is truly a vacation destination you'll want to come back to again and again.

Fit our simple needs
We (3 families) stayed here while visiting our family for Christmas. We grew up in the area so knew what to expect. It fit our basic needs- 4 large bedrooms (with very firm beds), 1.5 baths, dog friendly. The interior was a little worn but very clean. Plenty of fresh linens and towels. When we arrived, the house was a balmy 49 degrees. The upstairs heated up quickly but it seemed that the living room required the wood stove for heat (not preferred with small kids). The wood wasn’t stocked inside to get us started so we had to get it from outside (in the dark). I contacted through VRBO Messaging to see if we were doing something wrong with the heating unit but didn’t get a response. The driveway was plowed but the walkway and porch weren’t shoveled (and we couldn’t find a snow shovel) and there was no ice melt. There was only an inch or two of snow so it wasn’t unmanageable, just annoying. It seemed like the property management prepped the rental after the last renters but then never came back to check on it.The grill was blown over in the middle of the deck, a tree had fallen and broken on the house, the kitchen sink was leaking underneath (making the mat wet). I contacted using the Vacasa live agent but got no reply. The rental itself was fine for what we needed but it definitely seemed like it was a big company managing it with little invested in the property or guests’ stay.
