In the age of being kind I'll start with the good stuff. The staff were generally very nice, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast was good (when they got your order right). And although small the gym was kitted out pretty well.
HOWEVER. The interior was a bit tired in places, the restaurant carpet had several dark stains, the wardrobe doors in our room were wobbly to the point of collapse and the "high-tech" touchscreen room control unit would have been remarkable in 2005. Not to mention the pillows had about two feathers each inside them.
A "deluxe" king was no more than a bed and a weird open plan style toilet/bathroom. It's nice to share with your partner but some privacy wouldn’t go a miss at times.
The floors, ceilings and walls seemed to be made of paper so that you heard every foot step on your floor, the floor below you and the floor above.
Finally, if you want a pool DO NOT GO HERE. Despite the pictures making it look quite substantial it was no more than a large bath (except much more awkward to get in to).
Overall it was overhyped and overpriced which is a shame given the aforementioned nice staff and breakfast. But unfortunately no amount of local knowledge, smiling and sunny side eggs is worth the best part of 250 a night.
