Amazing condo

This was the cleanest condo we have stayed at. The view is beautiful. The first day we had problems with the ice maker and when we reported it the next day it was fixed. Great correspondence with them. I would highly recommend staying there. We are going back next year!!

Fantastic from start to finish!

From the booking to the last minute change of our stay location to check out everything was handled with professionalism and care. What could have been stressful was made easy and seamless. Our condo was beautiful and clean. We enjoyed all aspects of our experience!

Great condo!

Weekend Getaway

We have been so busy over the last several months and was just needing to get away. Four Winds is near and dear to our hearts beings that it is the first place that we stayed on our very first beach trip ever. It brought us so many memories from when we stayed with our kids back in 2009. The atmosphere is amazing and the check in process and the convenience of the beach is fantastic! We highly recommend it! Very clean!!!

Exactly as described.

We didn’t want to spend a lot of money but If I go to the beach, I want to stay on the beach. The property was just as described. My favorite part was dinner on the balcony overlooking the ocean/beach. I will say, if you plan to sleep six, it will be tight. One bathroom and a narrow passage between the end of the counter and the laundry closet (when the doors open) can be be a plan for caos.

Musty smell

This our first trip to Orange Beach, the condo was ok. It had a terrible musty smell, fire alarms went off twice within 2 days, one at 5 am and another mid morning, causing us to miss our planned activity. For the cost, this would definitely not be a first choice for us.

Mini Spring Break

We decided to take a last minute spring break and found this listing that was very reasonably priced considering the location and the season. We were overall very happy with our stay and had everything we needed. The biggest issue that we had was that internet/wifi was very slow and we were unable to stream anything on the bedroom tv. I saw in the check-in instructions that we could call the internet provider ourselves, however it wasn’t worth the waste of time for just a couple night stay. Other than that the only suggestion would be to get sheets for the master bed that actually fit and stay on the mattress. It is a little unsettling when you wake up and realize you are sleeping straight on the mattress that lots of people you don’t know have also slept on. There were also no sheets for the sofa bed so we had to cover it with blankets we brought from home. Overall, it was a great stay mad allowed us to spend time in one of our favorite places. We would stay again, especially for a reasonable rate!

Vacation

When arriving at the condo the kitchen light did not work but someone came asap to get it working. There were no sheets for the pull out couch but we made due and someone delivered them the following day. There were towels left in the drier. Not a huge deal but we were on vacation and doing someone else's laundry was the last thing I wanted to do. The pictures of the condo look a lot better online than the condo actually looked in person but the place wasn't awful. I wish they would have offered a military discount like a lot of the others do. All in all we had a good time but will probably opt to stay at one of the more expensive places with more room next time.

Just ok

Pros:They property looked like the pictures. The short walk to the beach was great. The bed was comfortable Cons: The place had a bad smell. The property manager returned our call quickly, said that old buildings have a musty smell and sent someone to spray air freshener. That didnt last. We bought air freshener and sprayed often. The bathroom is tiny! Tiny for 2 people tiny. The bed has a very loud squeaking sound. There weren’t any plastic cups or containers at all. Not one, so bring your own. The procedure for leaving says to wash and put away dishes. I hope most people would be honest and actually clean dishes before putting them away but I found it strange to leave this cleaning practice to the guests. I think the cleaning staff should handle that like all the other cleaning processes they say they do. We had a good time in spite of all these things but we wouldn’t stay at this location again.

Four Winds #703

We chose this property for its view of and proximity to the beach, and it met all of our expectations. The balcony was generous and we enjoyed many mornings and evenings there. The low density building provided quick elevator access and afforded uncrowded beach time. We loved the no-key access as well. The condo itself is worn: you can feel the springs in the sofa, masking tape was used to keep the bedroom light fixture in place, the kitchen countertop was ripped in the bar area. We were told the condo had been cleaned and inspected prior to our arrival but found the floors had sand everywhere and were sticky. This was promptly taken care of when we contacted the manager. Some of the kitchenware also had food residue on them. We would definitely stay in this complex again; however, not this specific condo.

It was okay

The condo itself is not too bad. We did have issues with the vacuum cleaner not picking up anything (although most guests might not be tempted to vacuum while they are on vacation) and the TV remote malfunctioning. These were reported and the offer to fix the issues was made in a timely manner. The condo sleeps six. Maybe most visitors eat out every meal, so the kitchen doesn't rank much attention. However, there are just about only enough dishes for 6 guests to eat one meal before having to run the dishwasher. For us, this meant running the dishwasher after every meal. Two of the cooking pans had broken handles. There were only wine glasses and a few juice glasses-no glasses for tall, cold drinks. As other guests have stated, there is little storage space for guests' belongings. The master bedroom has 2 drawers. The guests using the bunks and the sleep sofa have to live out of their suitcases. Also, I don't remember this being an issue in previous stays at other condos, but this one was exceedingly damp all the time.

Overwhelming Mold/Mildew

As we walked in, the overwhelming smell of mold/mildew hit us. We tried airing out the condo and gave the air conditioning a chance to work overnight. The condo itself was in disrepair. One of the doors to the laundry closet was hanging off to the side. The floors did not feel clean enough to walk on. Everything smelled like mildew and mold. There was even mold growing out of the ice cream scoop in the drawer. The property manager was very responsive. We did not have hot water at first and they fixed it right away. I also gave them a chance to address the mold. They came in and removed a mat that was under the sink (full of mold) and sprayed some fragrance. It was a kind gesture, but there is a severe systemic/structural issue with this condo and it needs to be gutted. We had brought our pack n play for our daughter to sleep in. When we returned home, we set the pack n play back up in her room. When we walked back in, the smell of mold filled the entire room. We had to scrub the entire thing with bleach water and it still smells musty. Like I mentioned, the property management team was very responsive and polite, so I gave them 5 stars. That is the only reason I am giving an overall 2 stars instead of 1. I cannot emphasize enough, this is a MAJOR issue and the property owner needs to deal with it. I would highly discourage anyone from staying on this property. (The Four Winds condo building also was in disrepair - broken gates, peeling paint, etc).
