“Nice friendly welcome. Room a little dated but was still nice. Dinner was great, service great. Only real down side was no car park. ”

“We stayed at this hotel for just one night. It was perfect for our family of 5. It was clean and bed was comfortable. The complementary breakfast was absolutely AMAZING. I'd go back just for the breakfast! The reason for the 4 stars is that the hotel itself is very dated. My family would prefer more modern accommodations, but I thought it had character and charm. ”

“A clean, well-run place. I booked at the last minute, so the email with information on accessing the place was sent by email while I was on the train. Wifi on the train was non-existent, so I had difficulty downloading the information, so I rang the landlord, who was extremely helpful. ”

“Clean very basic but did the job. You get what you pay for so for the cheap rate paid it was a good value budget hotel that was clean with friendly staff. They are in the process of refurbishment.”

“There was no clear indication of how we accessed the property. Despite trying to communicate with the owner, there was no response. We had to just turn up and hope for the best. Luckily, after getting to the pod, the key was there and the stay was good. It has everything you need and is in a great location. ”

“Hi we stayed at Guesthouse 42 for one night as we were in Margate for a concert in Dreamland. This Guesthouse is in a brilliant location for everything in Margate. The rooftop bar gives an impressive view of the beach and harbor. The rooms are very well presented with a fridge, hair dryers, clothes steamer, tea and coffee machines, safe etc. Complimentary toiletries smell great. “Really friendly, staff great. No parking on site but pay and display literally 2 minutes across road seemed safe enough. Seafront location, close to town. Breakfast delicious. Room 4 excellent for solo traveller, great views!”

“I love these type of B&B’s. This B&B is steeped in history built in the 18th century, On the land owned by the Spencer family, Vincent Van Gogh also lived on the square, so this is not a modern hotel if that’s what you’re looking for, it has steep stairs and smallish rooms, but is full of character, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the hospitality was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious, the pub on the corner is very friendly and only a short walk to the beach.”
