Spring Creek Splendor. The Perfect Location. Kids of All Ages Love It Here!

Waterfront cabin in Hill City with patio
This newly constructed walkout apartment is just a few feet from the enchanting sounds and solitude of Spring Creek. Huge front windows provide great light and visibility of the creek, willows, scenic bridge, pine trees and surrounding mountains. It does not seem like you are on a lower level. Good internet and cell service is available. Very open floor plan in the round makes for great family space accented by the natural pinewood bar and autumn gold slate gas fireplace. Located three miles south of charming Hill City, guests are only a short stroll from the Mickelson Trail, 15 minutes from Mount Rushmore and Sylvan Lake, 10 minutes from Custer, 30 minutes from Rapid City, and less than one hour from Deadwood and the winter sports areas near Lead.

This is a spacious fully furnished walkout apartment with huge windows and a large private patio where the gurgling brook, meadow, and scenic pines invite exploration. Deer, turkeys, and chipmunks are frequent visitors. The creek has catchable rainbow trout.

This circular shaped structure is a "Mandala" kit home and fits into this alpine hillside beautifully. The cozy furnishings and natural Black Hills slate gas fireplace will help you relax after a day enjoying the historic sites and unforgettable adventures which abound in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
The master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and a direct opening to the patio. The second bedroom also has an excellent queen size bed.

The activities available are beyond description but some of our favorites include:
Biking and hiking on the Mickelson Trail
Eating at the Alpine Inn in Hill City, Skogen in Custer.
Hiking to the top of Black Elk Peak (tallest peak between the Rockies and the Alps)
Historic sites galore- Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave, Badlands National Park, Pine Ridge and Wounded Knee, The Open Cut at Homestake Gold Mine in Lead, etc.
Swimming at Sheridan, Sylvan, Pactola Lakes, Cascade Falls, Hippy Hole, Angostura Reservoir
Devil's Tower
1880 Train
Black Hills Geologic Institute
Prairie Berry Winery and Miners microbrewery
Centennial Hiking Trail
Picnics anywhere
Wine on the patio and watch the sunset
Look for satellites in the incredibly bejeweled starry heavens
Exploring the art galleries
Skiing and snowshoeing
Horseback trail rides
Chuckwagon rides and suppers
Rockclimbing with Sylvan Rocks
And the list goes on...

We would love to share our prized piece of these amazing Black Hills!

Simply Beautiful
Although our time was cut short, the experience was amazing. Waking up to a fresh snow fall and the deer making their way through the property, made for a Beautiful morning.

Excellent place to stay!
This property is in an excellent location to make your way around to all of the South Dakota attractions. It was immaculate and owners/manager were extremely accommodating and responsive. Thank you!

5/5 Excellent

Convenient and comfortable
The property was very convenient and 10 min from both Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Also very close to Custer State Park. The unit was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to cook. The unit is close to the highway but we didn't really hear any of the road traffic and it was quite easy to access. The one downside is that it is a lower unit so we could hear people in the unit above us moving around in the living room but the bedrooms were quiet. The owner and the property manager were VERY responsive and quick to answer any questions. Overall this was a great property.

Wonderful stay in the perfect location
We loved the central location of this lovely home. There was a lot of room to spread out with 2 bedrooms and a large kitchen room and living room. All details were carefully thought through with games, movies, coffee, popcorn, and all the pots and pans needed to prepare a wonderful meal.

5/5 Excellent

Once we found the place it got easier each time. Beautiful home on great property that my 10 year olds loved exploring. So much fun seeing chipmunks and wildlife each day. Loved everything about this house; the easy fireplace, the beautiful design on the cups and plates, the Gorgeous pictures on the wall, the many towels given, the extras in the kitchen, the creek and space, feeling safe and quiet, the good communication., comfy beds and the great great location. Hands down just a WONDERFUL well run place in a beautiful area! Love South Dakota. Thanks again for everything.
