Disliked: Staff & service
Some of the staff were incredibly rude. I arrived early afternoon, you have to ring a bell to get in. I rang 3-4 times, no response. Then, a female employee came to the door, she was leaving for the day. She saw me there with three pieces of luggage and without saying a word she shut the door in my face and proceeded to go home. On my last day, I was having breakfast at around 9. Breakfast ends at 10. An employee (probably the same, not sure) came up to me a said dryly in Spanish: "Sir, check out is at 10:30". I got the message and went for my luggage. At checkout, I asked her to call me a taxi. Response: "You can hail one yourself in the street". No wonder the hotel was pretty much empty. NEVER again.
This hotel is an oasis within the chaos and noise of Huaraz. The common areas are impeccable, the carefully manicured gardens offer peace and quiet in stark contrast with the world "outside". Staff always polite and very helpful. Said that, do not expect luxury, or outlandish amenities. My room was fairly small, WiFi was coming and going, the gym was under construction - but you really need to put this within the context of the surroundings and of the price you're paying. I've also checked out the location and exterior looks of a couple of other "popular" hotels in Huaraz.... if you like to get some sleep and relaxation after a long hike on the mountain, you'll like the Colomba....
Quelques travaux en cours qui ne perturbent pas le séjour, vrai havre de paix dans la
ville, agréable jardin
le restaurant devrait rouvrir à la fin de l'année
I stayed two nights at Colomba during my trip to Huaraz.
It is a simple, but very cozy place.
The bed was great, big room and a nice hot shower. The green all around really looks an Oasis in the middle of the city and provides you with a very relaxing view.
The staff is really friendly and helpful.
I recommend this hotel and I would certainly go back there!
No les recomiendo la verdad ese hotel deja mucho que desear ...la atención es fatal empezando por su personal no tienen trato. Asi que se de algo les sirve este comentario no vayan a ese hotel.
If you are going for a visit to the city or the beautiful region and archeological site, stay here. His owner Luis makes fell unique, his family are there to take care of all your needs. He even drawed had made maps of the region in details for places to visit...you can hardly beat that!
The owner Luis is the perfect host! Took time to answer all my questions and recommended excellent restaurant nearby. I nick named him: Americo Vespuci, he even made hand written maps of the region for the places he recommend to visit every day. That's Service!
There are three hotels in Huaraz that I would recommend. Hotel Colomba is on the bottom of that list. They do a good job. They tried to charge a different rate that I originally booked the rooms for. Other than the rate issue it is not a bad place to stay.
El hotel cumple con toda las comodidades.Comenzando con el local muy acogedor y sus comidas muy buena sazon de casa que para mi es muy importante.El cuarto muy limpio y con toda las comodidades
