A historic cathedral with intricate Gothic architecture, including pointed arches and a tall spire.
A historic building with ornate architecture and a fountain in the foreground.
A museum corridor with wooden beams, stone walls, and exhibits.
A historical carriage display with two horses and a driver, surrounded by trees and stone walls.
A cathedral interior with ornate stained glass windows, a detailed wooden ceiling, and a pipe organ.
One of England’s most famous slavery abolitionists was born here. Museums tracking Hull’s rich seafaring and industrial history are among the other attractions.

Visit Hull Old Town, a fascinating district with a flurry of riverside museums that shed light on the city’s rich port and industrial history. Theaters and casinos provide entertainment in this busy area, which has ample shopping opportunities. Stroll along the River Hull and take in the sights of the Georgian and Edwardian façades lining the narrow alleys.

Delve into the Museums Quarter to explore Yorkshire and British history. The Streetlife Museum of Transport has a range of vintage motorcars and horse-drawn carriages. See its old bicycles and a steam car from 1901. Visit the adjacent Wilberforce House Museum, where its namesake slavery abolitionist William Wilberforce was born.

Stroll to the Hull and East Riding Museum that traces more than 200 million years of history in the region, featuring models of mammoths and displays on the Saxons. A little west, view the imposing Spurn Lightship vessel on the water.

Return to present days, with Hull Old Town’s many entertainment options. Watch a musical, dance performance or even a magic act in the Hull New Theatre. Attend a dramatic performance at the Hull Truck Theatre. Learn about upcoming events in the district at the Hull Tourist Information Centre. Visit the churches of Hull Minster at Trinity Square and St. Mary the Virgin, Lowgate, for glimpses into the city’s religious culture.

Browse the stores and restaurants of the Princes Quay shopping center, which stands on stilts on the Princes Dock. Make your way through the large St. Stephen's Hull Shopping Centre.

Hull Old Town is perched on the western bank of the River Hull, as the waterway passes through the city. Just east of Hull’s city center, the district has many bus stops. Travel to some of the other zones in the area, such as Drypool, Victoria Park and the Botanic district.
