“Great location, relatively busy street, hot water smelled a bit but that is to be expected. Internet connection was a bit slow to watch tv or a movie. Close enough to walk to the church and shopping area. Ice can only be found at the grocery store, Kronan. State run liquor store Vinbudin is the best place to buy beer besides the airport. Don’t trust the gps in the car, it brought us down many dead ends”

“This property was a modern, clean cottage a few minutes up from Akureyri center. It was not an issue for us to take a few minutes to drive where we wanted to go. The setting is peaceful and offers great views. The home itself was very comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed except for one seemingly minor but nonetheless annoying thing: the coffee mugs wouldn’t fit under the coffee maker.Aside from that, everything was perfect. “This was our first trip to Iceland, and our stay at Smalaskali was perfect! Location was great - far enough away to feel secluded, but close to Selfoss for shopping and dining, and close enough to make for a great base camp for excursions to the Golden Circle, Reykjavik, and a South Coast exploring drive. Cottage was well equipped, and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring.Laundry facilities were welcomed - note that it is a washer and not a washer/dryer combo, but……
