"For those who are looking to luxuriate in the onsens of the Kii península… This is a place not to be missed. The cave onsens, especially, were both gorgeous and healing… The other ones perhaps a bit rundown, but still quite a treat. The staff were great (and multi-lingual) and my room was squeaky clean. Highly recommend "

"The front desk staff were so polite. Check in was very simple. We upgraded our room to get a view of the ocean/Hashiguiiwa rocks. I highly recommend this! The staff member who checked us in was using a pocket translator which was very easy to use and communicate. There were also staff who spoke excellent English. The room and shower were absolutely luxurious after the cramped room styles of Kyoto. This seems to be a very small town but there were a few dinner spots a few minutes away by car—or a 10 minute walk. They allowed us to leave our car parked on the property while we backpacked across the Kumano Kodo trail for several days. I would absolutely recommend this as a way to start and finish that trek! "

"Shirahama beach area is wonderful and the hotel location is walkable to the beach and restaurants and super market. Nice ocean view and onsen made feel home. Staffs are more than wonderful. Stayed 3 days."
