The "non smoking " room

The non-smoking room stunk to high heaven. It's still in my nostrils today. The Saturday morning desk clerk was rude and lazy. Kitchen staff was great as was housekeeping and pool area.

Facilities were adequate but not exceptional.

Pros: Location.
Cons: See above.
Location: Near other hotels.
Key access to exterior door is not intuitive; signage would be helpful ("place key flat against black portion of the sensor"). I had to signal someone from inside to let me in. Breakfast: Bacon could be cooked until crisp (it was limp and overly greasy). Waffle makers were a nice touch though. Although it is a local thing, cane syrup would have been much appreciated. Because someone (maybe previous guests' children) had changed TV inputs), I had to get desk clerk to get TV working. Checking that the TV starts when "ON" button is pressed, probably should be a checklist item.

Don’t bother with management.

My family and I had to evacuate for hurricane Nate. We were ordered to leave our parish the morning Nate was suppose to arrive. We had to move West and found this hotel in Lafayette. On our way our car got a flat and I tried to call them as soon as it happened because I didn’t think we would make it. Our family called nearby hotels to hopefully get inside before the hurricane hit. We had to leave our car on the road and hike with what we can carry to any hotel that would take us. Thanks for not understanding our situation management and taking our money during this time of emergency. We had to pay for two nights at two different hotels at the same time.

Room was big

Pros: Room was clean
Cons: More training on front clerks
The staff were really bad. It took almost 30 minutes to check in. Don't think the clerk knew what she was doing, constantly going back to talk to someone. Took long time to check out. Asked for a later checkout and she said the most she could do was 30 minutes. Never encountered this anywhere we have stayed. Very unpleasant to deal with.

Awful Experience

Room smelled, people were being snuck in to the pool so we had no room to swim, only gave us 3 towels for six of us, continuously questioned how many we had in the room even though reservation said 6, room was never cleaned throughout the weekend, all trash cans were overflowing, we were given wrong statement at check out -my name someone else's credit card, fridge was broken, staff was rarely at front desk then argued when I said I was waiting 20 min because suddenly none of our room keys worked. Horrible experience!

Terribly disappointed

Cons: Cleanliness, Expectations of courteous staff, People bringing people in for swimming needs to stop
In a short version - we are extremely disappointed! Our first room wreaked of a cat urine smell. We were moved to a new room non smoking that was next to smoking so all we could smell was smoke. We stayed for two nights and our room was never cleaned. No new towels, old ones remained wet on the floor, trash overflowed. We continuously asked for sheets for the sofa bed and enough towels for those in our room. We were continuously questioned about how many people were in our room. We registered 6 we had 6. They gave us 3 towels and no sheets. We wanted to go to the pool but it was overcrowded with others who were being 'snuck' in. Wrist bands were eventually given to guests to try to keep others out. We couldn't even get into the pool. Breakfast foods were all out on Sat am. The one nice staff member refilled them; however, many items were still missing. The trash was oozing out of the cans. When we left we shared our concerns as we did previously. The staff member apologized and gave me the wrong bill with someone else's American Express card as I don't own such a card. Staff members were rude and disrespectful! Our keys didn't work on Sat and we had to wait 20 minutes for a front desk person. When she arrived she said I wasn't really waiting that long. I have never experienced this in any hotel recommended by Expedia. This stay was absolutely terrible!

Clean and comfortable hotel in Lafayette

Pros: Very clean and very, very happy, friendly staff.
Cons: Need more people to work the front desk.
Location: This hotel is very close to the intersection of Pinhook Road and Kaliste Saloom Road.
Overall, I really enjoyed staying at this hotel although I witnessed two different employees crying at two different times. It appeared to me, other than the cleaning crew, there was a shortage of people working the front desk and the breakfast area. I checked in at 6 p.m. on Friday and never saw anyone other than the single front desk clerk working and she was doing a great job trying to take care of the abundance of guests, but they should have had at least one more person working that shift as there was some type of little league tournament going on and the hotel was very full..too much to expect one person to handle. The next morning I went down to breakfast and even though there were an abundance of guests in the dining room, the food area was spotless and the lady working in that area was doing an extremely great job. I told her later what a great job she was doing and gave her a hug. These people work really hard in this hotel and wanted to acknowledge that to them all. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay, but I have to say that they need more personnel to attend to the front desk (other than a single person, especially when they know they have such a full house checking in and needing attention.
