Our host was amazing! We arrived with our rental car and Antonio was fabulous as well as entertaining which was a plus. He showed us all the rooms and the layout, then explained what we needed to make our week comfortable, which was to just relax and take a walk behind the house, along the rocks to a tide pool. The view as described is better in person. Sitting on the second floor balcony and taking in the ocean was THE BEST! He gave us restaurant recommendations and we really loved Bar Caloura. What a week! Thank you again Antonio, we’ll miss you!

Beautiful authentic Azorean home on Saõ Miguel

This is a lovely home with direct ocean access in Lagos, Saõ Miguel. Antonio, the owner, met us a check in, and gave lots of good information about the house and the neighborhood. Throughout our 2 week stay, he was easy to reach and very responsive. The house was clean and well maintained; it is ideal for a large family with sleeping space for up to 10. Antonio is rightly proud of this house, which was used as the family summer home in his youth. I would highly recommend this as a wonderful vacation rental.

Wonderful stay in the Azores!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. Antonio was fantastic. He met us there and showed us around. We were able to park our car there that we rented. The property is just as described/shown and has a gorgeous view of the ocean. It was very clean and plenty of sleeping spaces. At the time of year we went the evenings were cool but space heaters are provided. Also, we were able to wash clothes (the washing machine is located in a separate building on the property) but drying took a while due to the humidity - just something to be aware of depending on the time of year you go and the local weather. Overall, highly recommend this place - very clean, comfortable, and gorgeous. Antonio is very responsive and wonderful to work with as well. He has some great local restaurant recommendations too!

Gorgeous location

Plenty of room for 5 adults and 2 children. This house is set in such a beautiful location. We enjoyed our days at the house and exploring the island. Nothing is too far away and restaurants are in walking distance. Antonio was very accommodating and response to any and all questions:concerns. I would definitely recommend staying at this property.

Beautiful property and wonderful host

This was in a perfect location. There was more than enough room for 6 adults. We enjoyed having dinner with the beautiful view. Antonio was a wonderful host. He was very friendly and helpful. He added to our good memories on Sao Miguel. If we come back, this is where we'll stay.

Beautiful home with views not to be believed! Walking distance to grocery,restaurants,cafes, paved pedestrian path. Only a short drive to Ponta Delgado. Antonio could not have been more available,helpful and communicative. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful Ocean View Property

All amenities were there. Comfortable beds and furniture, full kitchen. Just a short jaunt through the yard and a two-minute hike puts you at 2 natural ocean pools. Private locked gate off the street. A very nice property.

Lovely stay at true Azorean home!

This is a wonderful property that makes your stay in the Azores feel truly authentic. From the oceanfront view, beautiful yard with stonewall fence, access to natural pools, and walk-out balcony, it added to the whole experience for us. The house is cozy and rustic, but still offers some modern touches; WiFi, tv, dishwasher, and washing machine. The courtyard in front offered some extra security and it was nice having the house set back from the street. We didn’t use it for parking because there was always street parking available. We walked down to the natural pools a lot, and used the walkway to Lagoa. There’s great restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store very close by. Antonio is a wonderful host. He was at the home to greet us and was super accommodating by letting us check in early. He even surprised us by getting us some traditional Portuguese foods for the house. He was available for anything we needed, and is a top host. My only suggestions would be a couple more fans in the house. It was quite warm during our stay, and we had to move the fans around from room to room when we needed them. We didn’t mind opening the windows, but when there was limited breeze/raining, it was quite warm. Something for groups staying w/9 people; there are double beds in each of the 4 rooms. One also has a crib, and another has a trundle bed. Just be mindful of your sleeping setup since 4 people in the room with the trundle bed was a bit tight.

Magical Property

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Antonio’s home! The backyard, the garden door, the patio and deck, the most beautiful view we’ve ever had. I loved having my coffee out on the rooftop deck each morning and my kids enjoyed walking to the natural pools and watching the waves break outside the back door. Antonio was so very attentive to our needs, showing us around the home and grounds and truly cared about our time on the island. Pics are as shown, you will not be disappointed

Life long dream

We traveled to Casa do Atlantico as a group of 9. The purpose of our family vacation was to accompany our 87 year old uncle "home" to his father's birthplace. We loved our stay! The home is no frills, but it fit our needs beautifully. We had 8 adults and our 16 month old granddaughter. Each couple had their own room. There was a full bath on each floor. The view is to die for! It was so relaxing to sit on the lower patio or the upper veranda! You can hear the surf. We all gathered around the large dining table for both our meals and games. We played cards, dominoes and banana grams. We walked to the natural pools on the left of the house. Amazing and refreshing! Our son-in-law walked to the supermarket more than once. We also walked to Charlena's for delicious pizza and drinks. It was very convenient, especially with our flight cancellation and rental car mix up. We utilized the washing machine and hung out our clothes to dry. This was quite handy, especially for the baby. We also went to Sunset Beach, about a mile from the house. We had a blast swimming in the ocean and enjoying the waves. The house was perfect for everything that I have mentioned. We scheduled two things. The first was a walking food tour with Hungry Whales in Ponta Delgada. It was fabulous, although difficult for our elderly. The second was lunch at Tony's in Furnas for the Cozido. We also went to Caldeira das Furnas to watch them pull the pots for our lunch. It was fun and the Cozido was delicious. One order can feed two! We also ordered off the menu and everything was fantastic! Lagoa and Casa do Atlantico are a terrific location to have for a home base. It's 10 to 15 minutes from Ponta Delgada, and about 45 minutes to all other places of interest. Do yourself a favor and consider renting this gem of a home! Communication with Mr. Antonio was great. He was very responsive to all our questions. Our final comment or suggestion to improve a stay would be to include a fan or ceiling fans in the bedrooms to help circulate the air. Thank you for a memorable stay, Mr. Antonio! We hope to return to see your new property under construction and repeat our stay at Casa do Atlantico!

Beautiful house on a beautiful island

This house was great for our family of 4 on our first trip to the Azores. Bedrooms to spare and 2 full bathrooms with a well-stocked kitchen. The location can't be beat - truly a wonderful area. We will be back in the future!

Beautiful house in a perfect location

We loved the house and the gardens and had a wonderful time there. The house is very comfortable, with good spaces, a nice layout, and it was very clean. The location is good for going anyplace on the island, and the setting is spectacularly beautiful. It was nice to have sea breezes all the time. We would definitely stay here again, and probably will! The only things we would suggest is to give tenants an extra set of keys (in case they are not always together), and to have a few more dishes and coffee mugs. We cooked for our family and needed more dishes and eating utensils, and, as Americans, we like large coffee cups in the morning. Thanks to Antonio for our stay in your lovely home.

Idyllic place to unwind and see Sao Miguel

We couldn't have asked for a better place to start our second trip to the Azores. The house is comfortable and spacious with a lot of character and very tastefully decorated and furnished. The setting is incredible and the proximity to the sea at the end of the gardens is a constant joy along with the natural pools close by. The views from both terraces were amazing and wonderful to wake up to. Antonio was a brilliant host with great advice and always extremely helpful - even getting some food supplies for us before arrival. The kitchen was well stocked and the outside barbeque was a great success. The house is very well situated near Lagoa, with its supermarkets and restaurants, from where the whole island is accessible but at the same time felt extremely private and tranquil. A perfect getaway!
