Booked this hotel for a business conference. The casino area was very smoky and not family-friendly. You can’t bring kids to the restaurants on the first floor for meals. Even in a non-smoking room, I could still smell smoke, likely due to the old AC system and poor filters. A fire alarm went off at night because of a malfunction, waking my 7-month-old baby and making him cry hysterically. It was a nightmare for an exhausted parent who had just fallen asleep and had to comfort the baby again before an early morning meeting. There weren’t many breakfast options before 7 or 8 am. Only TGI Fridays was open, and takeout was slow and expensive.

My only negative comment about Gold Coast is that I understand this is an older hotel, however the fire alarm in our room went early in the morning, around 8am, while we were still sleeping. Also the cleaner (the one who cleans the rooms after check out) came by our room early, around 9am and check out is not until 11am.

The front desk clerk was the highlight of my stay. He was pleasant, attentive, and treated you with respect. Also, the security was noticeable and talkative. The downside no pool access, the staff never approached you while playing machines and plenty of the other staff was rude and very short.

Hotel was recently renovated and more renovations are scheduled in the near future. The rooms are very clean and neat. The bed was so comfortable. The Chinese restaurant downstairs is has a delicious selection of dishes. Check in and check out was a breeze. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Vegas.
