Casa Pendôa 9 | 2 Bedrooms Self Check-in Online

Centrally located in UNESCO-protected Sintra, within just 100m from National Palace and tourist office, a 5-min walk to Quinta da Regaleira, and 15 min from the train station, Casa da Pendôa offers elegant apartments with scenic views of Sintra Mountains and Moorish Castle. The apartments blend modern and antique styles, featuring fully equipped kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and flat-screen TVs.

*Not suitable for people who have problems with humidity*

This air-conditioned apartment is located on the ground floor, accessible via stairs. It has two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with a dining area. There is a bedroom with a double bed and a flat-screen tv, while the other room has 2 single beds. The maximum occupancy is 4.

Please note that the access by car to the historic center is closed to traffic. You will need a proof of reservation to access by car and to drop of your luggage since you will not be able to park inside the historical center.
We recommend you to park at estrada da Macieira, the parking is free.
Pets - not allowed

Rating is 3.5 overall but that’s not an option. 5 star location and sleeping arrangements. Shuttered windows kept everything cool and quiet. Soft towels, great water pressure and hot water lasted through 2 showers. Once you get to the bldg entry is easy. 2 min to center of town for shopping and eateries. A few things worth mentioning, since this is not on their listing and they don’t tell you this until the day of. This is located in a restricted car zone area. You can’t park anywhere within a 10min walk of your stay but with a special QR code, you can enter and drop off your luggage . It was a nightmare getting into the center, absolutely no instructions on how to enter and use the entry QR code. We wasted 90min driving in circles until we somehow made it into the city manually mapping our way in. We paid 49 euros for 36 hours of parking. And the QR code is only good for one entry and one exit. So once you park, you won’t be able to re enter the city via car without another QR code. Not a good situation for anyone with a car rental. Lastly, we went to breakfast on check out day (11am check out time). When we returned at 10am to get our luggage the outside door access code no longer worked. Luckily there was another couple also locked out who had a friend inside who let us in.Overall a 3.5 experience for us.

Renters beware! Double charge scam?

My family of 4 stayed in this apartment in July, having booked and paid in February. The property was as described, clean, and in a good location. Alas, communication with the host was bad leading up to our visit - emails & messages went unanswered, and I did not receive info to access the property until I contacted them day of, and then it was a couple of hours before they responded with the wrong access code to the apartment. The wrong access code was resolved quickly enough, and I thought all was well. Until I checked my credit card transactions and noted that they charged me a 2nd time for the stay. Ok, could be an honest mistake. I reached out to the host and they said they would get back to me after "speaking with their financial dept". I gave them a few days and did not hear from them, so I contacted them again. They said they refunded me. Great! I waited a few days again and did not see the refund go through. I contacted them again, and they informed me that they had refunded me my original payment back in Feb! I checked my transactions on my cc app and in my ledger - no refund. They insisted that they sent a refund, and sent me a screenshot of a receipt that supposedly proved it. I had ZERO emails. They insisted it was all fine on their end. They initially refused to explain why they would have refunded me in Feb, & their eventual answer made no sense. They refused to show me more legit proof. I finally had to file a chargeback dispute with my cc company. Beware!

Great location if you don’t drive.

Location was great! A few minutes (although uphill) from the historical city centre and National Palace. Lots of restaurants, cafes, & shops nearby. Beds were very comfortable and clean. My family and I adored the apartment. Even though we stayed on the lower level, it was very bright. Lots of one way streets that are narrow. I do not recommend driving if staying here. Parking was NOT easy to find.

Casa Pendoa is a beautiful place and we appreciated the option to store our luggage the day of our check out so we could continue our exploration of Sintra. This is a very clean apartment with lots of natural light and a close walk to the National Palace and lots of shops and restaurants. We did however experience no hot water which was a disappointment.

Great accommodations. Centrally located. Very well equipped. Private washer and community dryer makes laundry easy. Side trip: Inexpensive Bolt ride to Cabo do Roca from Casa do Pendôa.

The apartment was huge, and couldn’t have been more perfect for our needs (4 adults including 1 couple). Self check-in was a breeze. The best part was the luggage room with lockers and washroom facilities. We only stayed 1 night but we stored our bags there early the first day until late the second day for maximum Sintra time. So convenient and well thought out. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location and really clean!!!

This apartment is amazing!!! We had a rough start because the access code was not sent on time because the administration didn't charge the Credit Card (like other VRBO properties) 15 days before the starting day, this issue should have been solved. Otherwise super clean, everything is very close but also a very quiet zone. Our kids (teenagers) LOVE to walk around and learn about Portuguese culture. The owner was prompt to approach us when we had some issues; the administrator was not so good.

Magical Sintra

Loved staying in the historic district of Sintra! Full of palaces and castles, Sintra was a great way to start our adventures in Portugal. Casa Pendôa was exactly as listed with all the necessary items. Super clean! We wish we had more than 1 night here. Highly recommend.

Great place and great location.

Everything was great. We have been to Sintra 4 times in the past, and this is definitely a great location. It can be difficult to find, and to find parking, but we finally made it and had am excellent time.
