“I stayed at Hollies Halifax for 5 days. We arrived late the first day (Wednesday) and was told AC broken for the hotel. We stayed on the 9th floor ... flat roof with a day temperature of 30C. A hot stuffy room was our welcome! No windows at all. We requested a fan,. the fan was very loud with a broken nob that we cannot adjust. “Beds are excellent, as you would expect from a Westin. The location is good and the staff are friendly and very helpful (definitely 5 start staff!).
My disappointment is that the hotel feels a little faded, still clean and well maintained.. it just shows its age.
Also, I was surprised to discover a few things missing that I would have considered standard at this price point.

“We stayed at this property ahead of moving our son into his university dorm. It was a perfect location, easy to get everywhere and a grocery store only a 5 minute walk. There was plenty of room to store our things and we really appreciated the covered car port. The house was very clean and the owners responsive. We would not hesitate to stay here again. My only suggestion to future guests would be to bring some sugar packets if you like it in your coffee :)”
