Hotel is in the city centre but very quiet, given the location. Extremely comfortable bed, room was of a good standard and the spa facilities came in very useful after a busy time in the city. Handy for the Waverly station and the Playhouse theatre. We'll certainly be back.
We booked into Motel One as we wanted a night in Edinburgh to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It is situated up a side street opposite Waverley train station i.e. Right in the middle of town. There is no grand entrance but you go up to the first floor reception which has a 24 hour bar. The views ...
Stayed with my wife at the hotel over the New Year for three days. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. This was helpful as we were cold ( and was having heavy luggage). It was also nice with the Christmas market just opposite the hotel. All the landmarks ( castle, old town, ...
I really had a very nice experience there, excellent staff. High recomemd. 5 minutes from Princess Street, and 20 minutes walk to the Castle so any time you can go back to the hotel to have some rest and then start your journey trip again. The last day I took bus (26) and in 15 minutes I was on the ...
The first apartment we were given was in the basement. The area was extremely cold on entering and the heating inside the apartment wasn't working . The dish washer was also broken. We contacted reception and it wasn't long before we were offered an alternative apartment which was warm and spotlessly ...
Can’t ask for much more than a place to stay literally across the road from Waverly Station. Convenient location to catch Hop on Hop off bus, leisurely walk to Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. If interested in amazing affordable breakfast 10 minute walk to Standing Order.
Enjoyed two nights and check in was perfect, with an offer to upgrade to a perfect view of the castle. Service is excellent and staff responded well to our every need. Inclusive breakfast is a must with an excellent selection good for any dietary needs. Second time here and many more to come.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming upon walking in the front door! Complimentary coffee, espressos, hot chocolate and tea all day/night. Hotel room was modern and clean. The room size was adequate enough for me since I was only planning to sleep in it. ;-) Hotel was within walking distance to ...
Fantastic stay right in the centre of Edinburgh. We were there for three days over the New Year period. Our room overlooked the street which was rather noisey from time to time but that was to be expected for the time of year.
Just the most beautiful hotel. I stayed in Rio and my colleague Milan, both over the moon with our rooms, we didn't want to leave. Also the beds were unbelievably comfortable. Every member of staff we encountered were warm and friendly. We will definitely be staying here again.
My girlfriend and I stayed for three nights. It was a perfect stay. We were on the top floor and the room was gorgeous. Everything was spotless, the shower was powerful and there was no noise from outside at all. We didn't try the restaurant or breakfast, but everything looked great! All the staff ...
The stay was good, but the size of TV is miniscule. I got a room where the bathroom was detached. Some hassle, but the room and the bathroom were clean and nice. The heater was tucked away behind the furniture so the room would not heat much.
Extended family needed large apartment in edinburgh near old town and public transport for a family wedding later in Dunkeld. Great location, only downside steps with the littlies and getting baggage up and down, and parking for the hire cars. We could have dealt with cars differently had we realised ...
