Worst experience ever

Booked the hotel through hotels.com. Arrived at the hotel an hour later. Front desk attendant was rude and said it was a mistake and they didn't have a room. We had been drivin for 18 hours and needed rest. He said they only had a room but the ac was inoperative. I said that was fine. Upon getting in the room, the bathroom door was broken and there was a lizard in the room. The hotel staff tried to kill the lizard (in front of my 2 daughters, age 3 and 9). They had no other rooms, so we stayed in the lobby for 1-1/2 hours on the phone with hotels.com at 2 am with kids and luggage!!! Horrible experience!!!!
