Sleeping up to 9 people, the 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home has been renovated with comfort and connection in mind, featuring light, open spaces, and large bedrooms. With views of the Prosser River, the home, just an hour’s drive from Hobart, is perfect for a large family or group to share. Walking distance to beaches to swim, surf, and explore all around Tassie’s beautiful, rugged East Coast. The Space: Just across the road from the Prosser River, "Wainfleet" is a sanctuary by the sea in popular Orford. Fully renovated and beautifully decorated as a modern beach house, the spacious 3 bedroom home is light, bright, and airy and ready for family entertaining. Open-plan kitchen, living, and dining areas are the heart of the home, letting in plenty of natural light and views of the Prosser River and jetties, just across the quiet residential street. Fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and a large 8-seat dining table for relaxed home-cooked dinners. Split system heating and cooling as well as a wood fire in the lounge to utilise for summer comfort or winter warmth. Three generously sized bedrooms: the master bedroom has a king bed and features an en-suite; the second bedroom a queen bed, and bedroom 3 has a queen and double beds and a single bed, ideal for kids to share. The renovated bathroom is spacious, with its classic white tile and black tapware matching the home’s style, and features a laundry room with a new washer and dryer. Outside, enjoy the undercover deck with outdoor setting and Weber BBQ for long summer evenings, as well as the large backyard for children to enjoy. Step across the road to the Prosser River, take a short walk to Shelly Beach, or take a short drive to the popular Spring Beach. For a morning brew and breakfast, Wattlebanks Café and IGA Supermarket are only 200 metres away. Fill your days with hiking, cycling, diving, swimming, and water activities. Take a short ferry to Maria Island National Park for a day of stunning wildlife and history. 'Our Park' is around the corner and will keep the kids occupied with a playground and bike park. Join in with a park run if you are staying over the weekend. Note: There is no WiFI at Riverside Retreat Guest Access: Guests have full access and private use of the entire property. The Neighbourhood: Hobart is an easy and scenic one-hour drive from Orford. The seaside village has lots of conveniences: an IGA supermarket, cafes such as Wattlebanks and Elly’s, a pizzeria, a bottle shop, and pubs. Enjoy the 2km cliff-side walking track to Shelly Beach, offering beautiful coastal views of Spring Bay, Mercury Passage, and Maria Island National Park. Take a short ferry to Maria Island National Park from Triabunna, just a 10 minute drive from the property. Abundant bird and wildlife, there are cycling tracks and hiking trails nearby for all levels, and you may be lucky to see dolphins and whales. Lots of historical experiences, such as a visit to the old sandstone quarry and the Convict Trail. By car, explore areas of Swansea, Coles Bay, and the Freycinet Peninsula, and discover wineries, distilleries, and home-grown produce from the East Coast regions. Getting Around: It is best to hire a car to travel to and around Orford. You can hire rental cars from Hobart Airport from Hertz, Thrifty, Avis, Budget, Europcar to name a few. Interaction with Guests: Please note I will not be available in person during your stay. I have a management team in place to assist guests with any questions or issues which may arise during their stay. Cons - no wifi - only 1 actual bathroom. Floor plan is really odd - you have to walk though one bedroom to get to another. One shower is very small and leaks, not practical at all with a half sink for the 7 people that end of the house accommodates. Worst of all was the booking’ communication and level of service. So problematic, cancelled our booking before our stay and caused a great deal of stress to rebook at a higher price.
