Check in issue

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Pros: Lobby and breakfast areas.
Cons: Check in process. Room cleanliness. Room locks.
Location: Nothing, lots of construction workers and people just passing by.
When we arrived at the comfort inn the hotel didn't have our reservation. We had received the confirmation from Expedia, and showed it to the staff at the hotel. The first person that tried to check us in tried looking up the reservation, it didn't work, and she proceeded to check in multiple other guests without assisting us. Since we're from the US our phones weren't working in Canada and she was of little assistance letting us use the hotel front desk phone. When she finally finished chatting with other guests, she asked if we had figured things out. Obviously we hadn't and Expedia even called the hotel back, but she wouldn't talk with them. Luckily Brandon, another member of the hotel staff, walked in. He called and talked through everything with Expedia and got us checked in as quickly as possible. Other than that, the staff at the hotel was friendly. The lobby and breakfast were adequate/ pretty nice. The rooms were poor to ok at best, kind of dirty and the door to the room didn't have the extra chain lock that you expect to see at a hotel. Really weird, and if I was alone I certainly wouldn't have stayed in the room.

Great Staff!

We only stayed for 1 night, but the room was clean and quiet. All of our interactions with staff were wonderful. Would definitely go back.

Excellent hotel for the price.

Hotel has been updated an renovated over the last year. The whole interior of the hotel is new. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast area is very nice and hot breakfast is adequate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The view isn't good but is very close to the train station and Oshawa mall. Lots of options for food, easy access to the 401. Highly recommended.

Was under construction

Room was ok. Breakfast was mediocre at best. There were probably several better possibilities due to the state of the hotel. The room itself was acceptable and clean.

It's a Comfort...

Clean rooms with all the amenities. Right off highway 401 with easy access to Whitby made it ideal for me. Firm comfy bed and different firmness pillows was a plus as well.

The place was nice. Although the lighting in the rooms could use some improvement. I like how the main floor rooms all have separate entrances and the front desk gives dree tea coffee and snacks. The breakfast is nothing special.
