“We stayed for one night only and the reception was friendly. We bought a plug-in air freshener as the room smelt funky. The single bed was uncomfortable. Very noisy at night due to karaoke - but this was the summer in Paignton so I guess it’s normal. Hotel is near the main strip so very convenient. ”

Lovely 6ft bed, Lovely bedding and towels, everything you need in the kitchen area fridge freezer and wecome pack, and a lovely swim pool in garden with plenty of seating area's, hosts very nice and friendly cannot fault this cottage would return.”
“This is a very large and quite old hotel. The room we stayed in was large and pleasant but the hotel's plumbing was loud enough to disturb our sleep, as were the footsteps of the people in the room above.
The WiFi in the room was inadequate and kept cutting out. I had to use the public areas to work.
We booked the hotel because it had an outdoor pool, only to find that it was out-of-service during our stay. Whilst this might have been unavoidable, the staff weren't particularly concerned about……
“Lovely stay, just a few yards from the sea front. Lisa and Christophe made us feel very welcome. The swimming pool was great and just what you need after a long drive or busy day around Torbay. The breakfasts we enjoyed each morning were delicious and kept us full throughout the day. Would definitely return and highly recommend a stay at the lovely Charterhouse if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Torquay.”
