Lovely place to stay.Posted Mar 11, 2017
Our room was huge and very well equipped. The location was great -- close to Center City and Independence Hall as well as many good restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

More like a B&BPosted Mar 7, 2017
There are many positives about this hotel but also a number of significant negatives. It is looking a bit tired in places but unfortunately its major issues are: noise penetration from slamming doors; music from restaurant kitchen below; lack of view from rooms to the inner side; cheap snack breakfast; no suitable chairs and table in room to eat the delivered breakfast; maid's trolley and used sheets constantly blocking hallway; some used breakfast trays left in hallway all day and night; inconsistent maid service (no hand soap for 2 of 3 days, shower cap box empty, shower body wash not replaced); and coffee whitener instead of milk in rooms. It is a very informal place if that's what suits. Good location for historic sites. Rooms have refrigerators and microwave ovens.

Amazing experience! We did arrive around 3:15pm, check-in was at 3, and did not have a room ready until 4:15...but John was very apologetic and accommodated us above and beyond for the rest of our stay. So cool that breakfast was served to your door when you wanted it each morning. Stay included free guest passes to the best gym I have ever been in. Everything was within walking distance. We will definitely remember this place and probably stay there again on our next visit to Philly.

3 day midweek stay... Pros: Convenient location, within 10 min walking distance to city hall/Reading Terminal Market. Subway just 2 blocks away. Easy no hassle check in by friendly staff. Clean room. Discount hotel parking at nearby lot which allowed us to come and go as often as we wanted (unlike others in the area) Cons: Unloading was bit of an issue as all spots in front of hotel were taken. Biggest con was the noise from restaurant next door and traffic on street. I have stayed in many city hotels and found this to be unusually loud...esp at night at restaurants closing time. Overall a very nice hotel...one which I'd stay at again. One last note...getting to lobby was a bit odd...once you enter main door take elevator to 2nd floor :)

This is a very small establishment. Front desk personnel are available only for a few hours that too during day time only. There are no dead bolts in the room adding to security concerns. They advertise that there are 2 restaurants and 24 hour front desk which are not true. Restaurants and parking are in near by facilities.

Quiet, comfortable night's sleep, which is key on a busy business trip. Good location for walking out to dinner too.

Receptionist and general manager were rude and tried to barge into room while my boyfriend was undressed and accused us of smoking and stated that his detector went off and detected smoke. False! Then the while alarm system would have went off. Made us uncomfortable and no sleep for the night as a result Corporate notified.

Good but noisy locationPosted Feb 8, 2017
Pros: Clean, friendly, fridge and microwave.
Cons: Caulk the windows. And provide ear plugs.
Location: It's in the middle of Philadelphia- lots to do and see.
First the good: Hotel is centrally located, short walk to many of Philadelphia's destinations as well as major hospitals. The room was clean (love the polished wood floors) and the staff friendly and helpful. Although the included breakfast is just bread (bagel/muffin/pastry), a piece of fruit, yogurt and juice it's nicely presented on a china plate with real flatware and a cloth napkin. A wide time window to have it delivered to the room was nice, too. Fridge, microwave and coffee maker were all useful. The not-so-good: Only one chair in the room, and that was a desk chair. For two people, it meant someone had to lounge on the bed to eat breakfast. The room had two windows that were very drafty. But the big downside was the street noise. For some reason Philly drivers' education includes a rule that anytime traffic slows everyone needs to lean on their horn. Our room overlooked the 13th and Locust intersection and on Friday night the horns didn't slow down until 2 AM and didn't really stop until 4 AM. It was only a little better on Saturday. Ask for a room away from the street, or bring earplugs.
