"The room was clean & large. The staff was helpful but rarely at the counter. Breakfast was good. Only real negative was the hike from our room to eat breakfast or get coffee. This is a 1 story hotel about 300 feet long. Recommend you request a room close to the breakfast area."

"We Stayed in a basic two double bed room in the Palmer building. Bed was very comfortable. Room was basic but clean. Hard to judge the value of hotels anymore because they are all overpriced (it was about $300 for a Saturday during fall leaf peeping season). Location was convenient to a few shops and restaurants within our building. We were there on a Saturday and all the resort restaurants were booked with long waits…so plan accordingly if you are going peak season or over a weekend. Beautiful area and a good central location between the coast(Portsmouth about 1hr 20 mins and the famous white mountain(Conway about an hour). Be sure to visit the castle in the clouds which is a short drive and the views at the top are spectacular from both the restaurant and mansion."
