There were many things we liked about Hyatt House. It is centrally located in down town Beaverton so convenient to Powell's Book Store, the food carts, lots of restaurants and shopping, as well as the light rail. The hotel staff was really nice and quickly responded to our needs. The included buffet breakfast was one of the best around at this point. The beds were soft and comfortable. The nearly full-sized refrigerator and dish washer were great for our needs and allowed us to keep the food we brought plus our leftovers from restaurants. Heating in the microwave was a breeze and it was great that dish soap, dish washer soap, and cutting board/knife were also included in our room.
What could have been better: 1. the light rail runs right behind the hotel. If you are a light sleeper, leave on the fan for the AC or some other white noise to try to drown it out. 2. the AC blows right on the closest bed and is not directionally adjustable. It was a bit cold for the person sleeping there. 3. one of the two elevators was down the whole time we were there, making the wait for going up or down quite long. 4. the stairs (to avoid the elevator) were inconvenient and hard to find. 5. when asked, the staff had no idea if there was recycling available. 6. despite saying there would be no house keeping service, our room was entered while we were gone so toiletries and towels could be refreshed. This was actually good for us, but if I had known, I would have put away my laptop.
