Sabana Palenque Vacations from $699

Pros: nice beach and beautiful shallow water, no waves due to a small rock barrier alongside the beach, plenty of palm trees for shade, plenty of loungers to use; Cafe had good selection of coffees available. Cons: small, outdated resort. Maintained minimally. Our room had outdated, peeling furniture, very basic. Fridge barely keeping water cool. Bathroom small and dark. Many times we had to ask for appropriate amount of bath towels for all of us. It's advertised as 4 stars, but there is nothing 4 stars about it. The service in the restaurants is polite, but extremely slow and inefficient, most times we ended up bringing our own water and coffee. Sometimes there was a hassle to find an empty table. Advertised 5 restaurants but only 3 were available and on rotating days. Food blend, but I think most of the resorts are similar. Beware that summer months experience the infamous Atlantic Sargrass invasion. For most days we got lucky, but last day the water was already bad. That was our seventh trip to DR and with sadness I have to say that this resort didn't live up to the expectations and hospitality of any previous resort we had stayed. Hopefully the review will be helpful to make a decision. I'd say, go someplace else. I'm not sure that reputable Expedia should even offer it in their selection.

Overall, everything was great, and we had a wonderful stay. The staff, especially Liliana, was incredibly helpful, friendly, and always willing to assist with anything we needed. The only issue we experienced was that the electricity went out every night, about 3 to 4 times. Each outage caused a lot of noise when the power came back on, which made it very difficult to sleep. It would be a great improvement if the property had an emergency backup power system for guests to avoid these repeated interruptions during the night. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the excellent service from the staff.

Es una exelente propiedad ubicada en una de las mejores playas del país. Tiene que mejor en la comida de la cena de todos los restaurantes incluyendo el buffet. Si vas buscando una piscinas con bar dentro de la misma este no es el hotel. Aunque los show nocturno son flojo el personal de entretenimiento se encarga de que la pases bien.

It’s a bait and switch the address is not where the location is and the rooms shown are not available. It’s still under construction and has regular black outs. Next to a cemetery. Do not stay here pictures not as shown. AGAIN DO NOT STAY HERE BAIT AND SWITCH NOT AS ADVERTISE. And Expedia nor the hotel will compensate.
