The staff were very helpful and attentive, we very much appreciated their attention to us as tired travelers on our first night in Iceland. The hotel manager was extremely approachable, friendly, he answered all of our questions, and gave us great information for the next few days of our adventure. The property is under new ownership as of early 2026 and they are making visible improvements. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was also very good. We asked for our thermos to be filled with boiling water and we had hot water for tea and coffee all day! The bed was very comfortable although they are upstairs in a loft. The hotel is very quiet and we did not hear noise from other guests. Highly recommended, and we would stay here again, especially as a base hotel to hike to the Glymer waterfall on a future trip. The mountain view and parking was appreciated. It was nice to park right next to the camping pods. It was nice to be able to see the northern lights from the property. There’s no breakfast served during the winter but there is coffee/tea and some biscuits and spreads laid out for travellers which was very nice! The dinner menu was limited as it was out of season but the beefburger was nice. Breakfast was good. Only reason I gave it 3 stars as it was really noisy. A number of cars parked in front of reception and I was awoken at 1am by a bunch of noisy people having snow ball fights and making alot of noise. They were there for a really long time."
