While the location was perfect for our needs, the hotel had a few issues for our short stay.
As a family of two adults and two young children, we were put in a room on the second floor facing Bay St. Not having been to Savannah in a very long time, I was not prepared to hear EVERY SINGLE noise that took place outside at night. My husband and I are light sleepers and received the brunt end of cars who wanted to show off their loud exhausts at that stop light, and obscene, vulgar conversations from drunk people at 3am.
While taking showers/baths, the drain was stopped up and took forever to drain. So while showering, we would be standing in a few inches of water.
At breakfast, there were only two options in the dining room to sit more than two people. One large family seemed to want to stay at one of those tables all day long, while the other 6-top was occupied by a couple, who didn’t seem to want to move to one of the few open 2-tops. My husband and I stood to eat our food so our children could have seats.
This hotel is probably great for a couple wanting a little getaway, but as a young family, it was not a great fit.
