I just arrived to this hotel without booking (I did not know if we would arrive on time, so I thought just to find a hotel in the neighborhood). The lady at the reception was extremely polite and helpful. She did find a great room for us although I had not reserved in advance. I really appreciate when you see people go an extra mile like this.When you have a car, it is very easy to go downtown from this hotel. There is enough free parking at hotel's premises.

I didn’t give it 1 star because I think they were victims of the global IT outage. But man it was rough. They didn’t have my reservation but they gave me a room because I showed them my Expedia receipt. The room’s AC did not work. They said there was nothing they could do but told me to open a window. The light switch in the bedroom and the kitchen didn’t work. I had to use my phone flash light. When I asked to move rooms, they said they couldn’t because their computers were down. The ceiling had water damage. Parking is a nightmare. And there were prostitutes coming in and out across the street. One of the worst hotels I have stayed at.

It was a very shady area with prostitution across the street and a sign in front of the hotel that says prostitution is not allowed here. Room wasn’t very clean. Holes in the curtains. Stains on the floor. Lots of old furniture and mattresses in their “garage”. Do not recommend.

The bed was comfy and the best part of the stay! The kitchenette needed a serious clean and apllaince replacement (picture duct tape) as well as basic utensils maybe? The batbroom shower drain wouldn't stay open tondrain so we had towedge that little hotel soap in it to keep it draining. Parking is atrocious, and even more so when they are doing asphalt repairs. But the biggest issue and concern were the hookers and sex workers prancing around at all hours right outside the hotel. (It was 9 wirhin 9 blocks. And in broad daylight!) Had we known about Aurora Avenues reputation we definitely would've picked an entirely differnet location.

The hotel was adequate. The room was large, with a kitchenette. The stove door had no handle. The only cutlery in the room was a fork. The area around the hotel is sketchy….the staff was very friendly and helpful.

While the hotel itself seemed clean, it is in a terrible area. The entire area is a hotbed of prostitution and homeless. Directly across the street from the hotel is overrun with prostitutes. The homeless come into the lobby and scream and yell. There is a sign that clearly states prostitution is not allowed on the property, however from your window you can watch guests walk across the street and bring back a “guest” and you can see the prostitutes roaming the halls. The breakfast was mediocre at best. There is a questionable boarded up RV parked outside and I can’t even get started with the rats. While the room seemed ok. I most assuredly will not ever book this hotel again. Yes I read the reviews but obviously did not do a deep enough dive to get the real picture and would have cancelled my stay and slept in my car had I known the reality of the area and the ongoings.
