“Easy check in at the bar, our room was small but fine for us, the only thing lacking is a mini fridge. The hosts and locals are great, friendly and down to earth people. The food is excellent and they serve well kept beers at a reasonable price. I would definately reccomend this place and we will stay again. 👍🇬🇧 ”

“Great location, good size all round, good shower, well equipped kitchen (inc. washing machine & detergent), comfortable, quiet, parking great, good value for money.”

“Very handy for getting into Leyburn. Quiet apartment and friendly owners.”

“Our accommodation was thoughtfully equipped, with every detail beautifully considered. Stylish, spotless, and incredibly comfortable, it’s a wonderful place to relax — especially with the stunning views from Penhill. Henry and Penny are exceptional hosts, full of great recommendations for walks, restaurants, and local history. A truly memorable stay that we’d highly recommend.”

“Everything was fantastic 💖”

“Really comfortable and big enough that my whole family could sleep comfortably.”

“Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.”

“lovely property in a good location.”

“Lovely quiet area. Nice that there's only four lodges. Wild life is fabulous. The lodge has everything you need for your stay, plus the added bonus of TVs in the bedrooms.Great that there is no mobile phone signal, so it's very relaxing even though there is internetNot too far into Masham for groceries. Our only criticism is, and it's personal preference, is that the sofas are a bit to low for us.The dog loved watching the rabbits and squirrels. Will visit again”

“The place was absolutely amazing. Quiet and cute. Had everything we needed and was set up perfectly”

“A very quiet location in a rural area, ideal position for visiting towns in the area such as Hawes, Leyburn etc. The cottage overlooks fields and stables in the distance, there is a lot of wildlife, rabbits ,squirrels, to see along with the owners ducks, chickens and two cheeky dachshunds. We found the best Coop for supplies was to be found at Masham not far away with easy parking.”

“The privacy and cleanliness of the pods, second time returning and I will be coming back for a third.”

“Beautifully clean cottage in an idyllic setting. The house was lovely and warm when we arrived, which was very much appreciated for a chilly weekend, as were the fresh milk and delicious biscuits. Fantastic walks all over, every one of which our dogs loved. The cottage had everything we needed. A very well equiped kitchen, and we were happy to see for the first time in all our rentals, proper Gin glasses! Large, quality wine glasses too. In fact, the cottage was equipped with quality……

“We had a lovely stay at The Old Barn, it’s well equipped, quiet and dog friendly. The parking worked well, we have a 4x4 and a tow bar mounted bike rack. We also appreciated having a secure shed for our bikes. The neighbours are friendly and made us feel welcome, we are planning to return to the cottage to explore the area further. My only comment is about recycling as we couldn’t find a recycling bin. But we did locate and use the local recycling facility, which is at The Reeth Dales Centre.”

“Lovely cosy cottage with great views Excellent facilities in the kitchen . Close by Richmond ,Hawes, Leyburn.Would definitely stay again.”
