“We had a wonderful experience at the Oltrarno Splendid. The staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great, and there was always fruit and goodies to munch on in the afternoon/evening. The entry to the building was very cool - felt like another era, and the decoration of the hotel is very interesting. “The room was spacious for 5 of us. Nice, well equipped kitchen. Room was very clean and communication was good leading up to our stay and during. We had a miscommunication with check in time, but they were very quick to get to us (5 minutes) so all was well. Neighbourhood was great, close to everything we wanted to see and a couple great restaurants and yummy gelato place. We’d love to stay here again. ”

"After the second cleaning, i notice there are sand-like stuff on the floor of toilet area, it felt gritty and uncomfortable. I walked barefoot in the room as there were no slippers provided and I didnt bring one with me. The second morning when I was in the toilet, I accidentally stepped on something and it was painful. I realised I was bleeding. It was a tiny piece of debris? (I was guessing its a debris from the wall because of the shiny surface, but I can’t tell). This is not what I expected from a 4-star hotel… And some minor details -wifi didnt work for ard a day -entrance is hard to locate, and u must go through some stairs -no slippers -no conditioner -no hook inside the bathing room so all clothes and towels will be put outside. You needa be in your room naked and it felt weird to me -im in paradiso concept room but it still felt a bit dark, the corridors are dark as well -(if you care) pillows are quite soft -music in the bar which you could hear a little at night -i noticed 2 small fly?(i dont even know whats that) in my room, near the basin -the way room cleaning handle/move your personal belongings, such as shoes, really tells what attitude they got in their job. Its a very minor thing but you can feel their way of working. -hard to locate the hotel entrance, and all entrance have few steps of stairs Overall, I had high hopes because I love the design and concept of this hotel, however I left with disappointment."
