Nice hotel and close to St. Marys

Pros: It is convenient to St. Mary's
Cons: For the price, the rooms are clean. Improving the rooms will mean upping the price. I am satisfied with how they are, simple and clean.
Location: We love visiting Cumberland Island and St. Mary's. The tasty food in this area is more than I expected.
This is the third time my husband and I have stayed here. The rooms are very simple and clean. The staff is very nice and the Breakfasts are good and convenient. We spend time in St. Mary's and this is a close stay for us. We plan on bringing our extended family here this summer.

Trying hard to be a 3 star, but not there

Pros: Staff was courteous. I get the feeling they are trying to make this work, but it's a hard go.
Cons: The building should probably be demolished and replaced. Short of that, it requires massive renovation, probably not possible at their low rates.
Location: Ferry to Cumberland. St. Marys is worth a half day to a day of walking around. There are newer hotels at Kingsland about 5 miles further out/
This is an old facility with relatively new paint and furnishings, but the color scheme is jarring with nothing really matching. The rooms are musty and treated with strong air freshener. It's dark and cramped. Little things like coffee maker that does not work and get tangled up with the hair dryer. The cheap laminate floor is swept, but warped and grimy on the edges. The bedding is clean, but coarse. Breakfast does not compare well with Hampton or Comfort properties. Maintenance folks were in evidence and desk staff was courteous.

We appreciate your taking the time for the review. The flooring is being replaced as fast as we can accomplish it, but we do still have some rooms to finish. As far as the building being demolished that is a little unfair, we have new owners and some things take time, but when we are done the guests will be very happy. I wish you would have brought this to my attention when you checked out so I could have had chance to have a conversation about what is in the works and what we have done already. Again, thank you for the review and we hope you had a safe trip home.

Very old property, maid service was more than lacking. Never replenished towels and toiletries during a 4 night stay, provided fresh linens, nor took out the trash. Bed was uncomfortable. Obvious mold issue seeing as a bucket of DampRid was placed next to the air conditioner.

Sir/Ma'am, I reviewed my housekeeping records and your Do Not Disturb was up every day until late in the day. It was then taken down later in the day after my housekeeping had gone. If you would have contacted my front desk we could have given service and/or arranged for a later housekeeping. Also, the damp rid was not for an "obvious mold issue", it was to knock down the humidity in the rooms do to the weather change causing a lower denser layer of condensation during the dew hours. The room you were in is in an area of the property where there is usually no direct wind and the denser air causes a chill which the air conditioner won't remove from the air. Also, I could have dealt with your issues and explained this if you had contacted the front desk. I am sorry you had a bad stay but for future reference at any hotel, always contact the front desk so they can address your issues.

Nice hotel, Good location in central St. Marys.

Pros: Good location in St. Marys and away from the Interstate 95 rush and near family that we were visiting.
Cons: no suggestions at this time.
Location: St.Marys Seafood Restaurant , Pat Thai Restaurant, and River Front Café are all excellent.
Nice hotel. Good location and near family that we were visiting. We have used this hotel several times in recent years and have always enjoyed the stay.

The staff took care of me and grandkids, was down for a funeral and was treated OK.

I booked the room for my parents so they could get some sleep while taking a break from a long road trip. My parents checked in at 4am and had to check out at 11am. Everything was fine until housekeeping staff attempted to enter the room twice around 9 and 9:30am. The staff ignored the do not disturb sign on the door. Unfortunately my parents were unable to get their full rest. The manager was unavailable at the time of check out. After speaking on the phone, the manager wanted to offer a partial reimbursement. I felt a complete reimbursement was in order. His paraphrased response was "I don't have time for this right now, I'll give a complete refund just to be done with this" although a refund was given, the manager was very rude and unapologetic about the situation. Poor service.

Mr. Armada, I apologized to you, I refunded your money, even though your timeline for my house keepers knocking on the door is incorrect. My house keepers don't even get to their rooms until after 9:30 am, they have to get their paperwork and stock their carts prior to going to the rooms. The video shows my staff knocking on the door at 9:50 in error as he was one room off. We apologized for it. Your father understood and said he was fine with it. I didn't get upset with you until you got rude and demanding with me. If you are going to quote me, please get the quote correct. The conversation had been over, I tried to end the call, you were not having it, I ended the conversation, end of story.

My only problem was I booked and paid through hotels.com and they charged me again. Other than that the staff was great and helpful. Very nice people
