You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

The Gathering House

Our secluded 2,500 square foot home is fully equipped to accommodate! Our home is located just beyond the Stuart, VA town limits. There is only one other home in site. It is beautifully decorated with hunting trophies, pictures, and Christian decor. The kitchen is stocked and ready to cook a full course meal. The stove and oven are gas. Please feel free to use items found in the refrigerator and pantry.

The spacious home is beautifully designed for a quiet weekend. Sip on coffee on the large deck that over looks a small stream.

Master bedroom is located on the main floor has a king size bed with bathroom: walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub.
Bedroom #2 is located on the main level with a queen size bed.
There are two bedrooms upstairs with one full bathroom. An additional bedroom can be found in the basement.

Our home is equipped with Blink security cameras. You will find the cameras at the front door, deck and basement door.

Looking for adventure? Hanging Rock State Park or a NASCAR experience at the Martinsville Speedway. Other area attractions include: Mt. Airy, NC and Andy Griffith Museum, Mabry's Mill, Stanburn Winery, Chateau Morrisette Winery, Primland Resort, Villa Appalaccia Winery, hiking, fishing, Wood Brothers Racing Museum, Floyd Fest, Front Porch Fest, quaint shops and restaurants.

For infants and toddlers: A portable crib is stored in closet in the guest bedroom on the main floor.

No pets.

Internet is provided and is strong enough to stream movies while working from home.

Remove linens from used beds: remove the fitted sheet, sheet & pillow covers. It's not necessary to remove pillow shams, blankets & bedspreads unless dirty. Place the linens beside the washer & dryer.
All trash should be removed from the home and securely disposed of in the garage. There are multiple trash cans in the garage.
If using heat, please turn the heat down to 62 degrees on BOTH thermostats. If using the air conditioner, turn the AC up to 78 degrees on BOTH thermostats.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

If you use the fire pit, please use the provided bucket beside the spigot to put the fire out completely.
Do not use the wood stove located in the finished basement.
Do not use the China located in kitchen.

Perfect location for relaxing getaway

This home was so welcoming and comfortable. We were visiting my mother who had moved to a nearby assisted living facility in Stuart. It was a perfect spot to take her to spend time with us. We will surely be back.

Family Getaway

My family had a wonderful time. This location was perfect for our visit to Fairy Stone State Park, Floyd, Meadows of Dan, and a couple of other small towns. Although our river float plans were rained out, there was plenty to do at the house. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook family meals. It was a wonderful experience.

Makes you feel at home

Wonderful place to stay

The house was clean, and the necessities were all provided. We've stayed there multiple times and have really enjoyed our stay. The house provides so much for our large family. The only concern we had was the deck. It seemed to not be real sturdy one side especially. Otber than that everything was wonderful.

Our Motorcycle trip

We stayed at Rick and Christy's property for 2 nights on our motorcycle trip from Canada to Tail of Dragon, their place was ideal for 6 of us with plenty of rooms and the kitchen had almost everything for cooking a meal. Just a note to our fellow bikers; the driveway from the road to the house is gravel and it is a bit challenging to ride, please be cautious.

Canadian Thanksgiving

None of us are Canadian, but it makes a convenient annual holiday for three brothers, with their wives, to get together. Sometimes we are joined by cousins, but it happens because they promised their mother before she died that they would always remain close to one another. We enjoyed the spacious house and beautiful grounds as we relaxed and enjoyed being together. It was very welcoming and was perfect for our visit!

Perfect Place!

Beautiful home! Clean, homey, provides everything you could need. A very private setting, however close to everything. For those of us who stayed at the home and for those family members that lived locally and visited, we had the best time. We laughed, told stories, played Corn Hole, cards, took walks (and saw a bear), shopped, barbequed on the grill, made meals in the well stocked kitchen to share with family, and the best thing of all we made great memories. This "Gathering House" is true to it's name. A wonderful experience for our entire family. You will not be disappointed.

Togetherness

The Gathering Place is aptly named. We have stayed in the past and this visit was even better than the last. The property has the amazing ability to offer total and complete privacy but without sacrificing being close to everything. Minutes from restaurants, Walmart, the gorgeous DeHart Park, and easy access to the highway... but still away from everything. We had a night where we just sat on the hill and listened to the night fall and watched as fireflies lit up the trees like Christmas lights. We loved having the pack & play, baby gate, and high chair easily accessible. The layout of the house is perfect for family togetherness. We did some cooking, enjoyed some reading, and the kids loved the toys and exploring the beautiful yard. We did a day in Greensboro and a day in Winston Salem. The location makes it easy to get to. Highly recommend the house and the owners.
