"Entire place is very tried. Staff were young and joking around a lot. They found it very funny they gave a new customer the key for a room that a customer was already staying in, and they walked in on him changing! The menu sounded great but what arrived was very standard. I’d give it a miss!"

"The rooms are starting to look very dated. No sockets near the bed. No usb sockets. Furniture in the rooms are very early 80’s and need smartening up. Bed was comfortable as were all the sheets. The room was comfortable and warm. Black out blinds are brilliant. Lovely balcony and view across the golf course. Amenities are great. Breakfast was amazing. Local fruit and produce. Plenty of everything."

"We all loved the cottage. Super comfy beds with cosy throws.Perfect for a family of 4.For family activities and meal times, Curry & Fajita nights.Making cocktails.Childrens games.'Four in a Row'. 'Junior Monopoly'.We were juggling trips and exceptionally hot weather in the Brecon so initially we had short trips and then longer afternoons in the cottage.We had read the informative description of the back garden and decided not to use it. The girls very much enjoyed sitting on the wooden bench outside the front door where it was very peaceful,watching chickens and feeding birds.Johnathan had very kindly preset the hot water to come on at 4.30am at my request as my days always start early.The bathroom was sparkly clean and the beds were lovely and inviting. Our arrival was met with a delicious bottle of red wine and a bag of ice was thoughtfully placed in the freezer.The fridge freezer was a great size.I did a full weeks shop and was able to store accordingly including 4 packed lunches, several children's drinks. Numerous ice-creams and iceblocks.The living room was next level georgous with everything that you could need.Parking is available and requires a certain level of driver skill and manoeuvrability to access successfully especially if you don't have a four wheel drive vehicle. We have a Nissan X trail and skillful Grandpa!The surrounding area is beautiful with a trail leading from the cottage,through fields to the canal walk and The Royal Oak Pub."

"A very pleasant surprise as a solo guest. Needed an overnight stay for an event in Abergavenny, went with no expectations, just needed a comfortable, clean place and that's what I got. Yes the place needs a bit of tidying up, decorating, updating of furniture but that doesn't bother me as long as everything works for it's purpose which it did. I booked a room at the back with a balcony overlooking the river and the view was wow! On the hottest Bank Holiday for years, I left the French doors slightly open at night and it was so lovely to hear the river and breeze coming in and my morning cup of tea sitting looking at the view. It's a stop off for bikers and I enjoyed having a bit of a chat with them and about their trips and bikes. I didn't eat at the cafe/bar but the breakfasts from what I saw looked good. Bed comfortabke, I slept well. The only thing I would say is that the walls are thin and you can hear people walking on the floor above you, so if you are a light sleeper that may affect you. For me though for the price, I more than likely will be returning with my partner in next couple months for couple nights to take in the Brecon Beacons."

"It was fine. A bit of a mixture, for example, beds in one room were really nice, bed in the other were way too soft. The food in the restaurant was fine, had the vibe of fine dining but not quite the quality. Best part was the new words my son learnt starting with c and f. We were staying above a courtyard, I think near the kitchen and I think a groups of folk were discussing someone they knew, or possibly a female dog, it was difficult to tell."
