Our get together weekend

Great place for big groups.. ideally for if have teenagers to young adults as can have their own space downstairs, and parents upstairs. It Needs some updating and maintenance and in the winter not sure how warm it would be.. but we had a lovely weekend and enjoyed our stay

Weekend away with family

Place is perfect if you have kids it's comfortable and can relax. There was only 1 tea towel and the shower needs fixing. Overall enjoyed our stay great for family get togethers.

The house with Character

Great place to stay for a large group or family. If you are wanting 5-star accommodation, then stay somewhere else. If you are wanting a large clean place to stay with character, then you have found the right one. Very close to the Marina and park area (5min drive) to take young kids to play safely by the lake front or have a game of cricket on the reserve. Not far to Turangi to use the Hot Pools and go shopping at the supermarket. Only an hour away to visit the Army museum in Waiouru to have some fun. There is a petrol station right across the road to stock up on fresh milk etc, and they do Fish and chips and burgers etc. The Property is on the main road (Highway one) so is a bit noisy with trucks etc through the night, but you cannot do anything about that. If you have very young children in your group, you will have to keep an eye on them while outside. The property does say it is fenced but it is small and easy for young children to climb over. Upstairs Shower unfortunatly dosn't work and very little shower pressure downstairs. Most tolet and bathroom doors don't have locks same with bedrooms. So ok for families but maybe not so much for large groups travelling together sharing a place to stay. But all in all, a great place to spend with your family with lots of beds and rooms to play or relax.

Great house but listing needs updating and bathrooms need to be fixed!

Really great house for a big group. Lots of space and different areas to hang out. BUT there were a few FLAWS though which lowered my rating a lot. When hiring a house you expect the all the basics to function... Sadly it was only after we arrived we found out the bbq couldn't be used (and we had bought food to cook on the bbq, plus it's hard to cook for large groups with only a oven!), And that the upstairs shower head was broken... Basically unusable. Then we discovered the upstairs bathroom door couldn't even be shut! So just be sure you know what your getting when you hire the place. Hopefully the listing gets updated to reflect the house and it's amenities.

They need to upgrade the whole Bach! Bad water pressure and fuse/power! Insects EVERYWHERE!!!

It was horrible. Only good thing was the big amount of space! Would never recommend ANYONE to go there! As soon as we walked in we saw spider webs and spiders all by the light switches and corners of every single room. We weren't provided with a decent heater! Everyone slept in the cold! We had to sleep and eat in the living room upstairs because it's the only room that could provide a nice warm place for us. The most annoying thing was when the powers kept going off and we had to go down about 4 times every day just to turn the fuse on! They told us we can't get heaters in every room because it would affect the electricity (which we weren't informed about until we got there!) Not to mention the oil heaters are horrible! We would leave the heater on for the whole day and the rooms would still be cold! Please upgrade your place! Even the toilet on the bottom floor is filled with creepy weird writing everywhere! We also had to shower with very minimum and cold water! It is winter so upgrade your Bach! I would not recommend anyone going there unless if they get heat pumps or proper heaters! We bought 2 of our own heaters the next day and had to ask Bertina to bring us some more heaters and she bought one good heater! All the bunk beds are broken and need new mattresses, the mattress literally has this shallow shape in the. middle from so many guests sleeping on it. everytime we turn around on the bed the whole bed would make really annoying broken noises! The bottom room with 2 bunk beds, that rooms light bulb wasn't even working! It was dark and cold in that room! I don't want to ever go back there! I did mention to keep the Bach clean since we have kids and few adults with allergies! It was still so dusty and insects everywhere! we couldn't even shower properly since the water was cold and barely warm, there was hardly any water coming out, the sink taps had more water pressure compared to the shower water pressure!
