'The Hideaway' - Tucked in the Beautiful Wet Mountain Valley.

'Enjoy the special solitude of our high mountain retreat. Access to the San Isabel National Forest is just half mile away, providing hours of exploring by foot or rental horseback riding, ATV, and bicycling. Enjoy the natural beauty of this spot at 8500 feet and in the surrounding mountains where you may see wildlife including elk, deer, bear, fox, chipmunks and birds of many varieties. Then relax in our comfort designed house.

This property is 1 1/2 hours from Colorado Springs Airport and 3 hours from the Denver area and Denver International Airport.
Short trips [under 2 hours] might include: To the north: Antiques in Florence, Golf in Canon City, Rafting & Fishing in the Arkansas River, the incredible Royal Gorge Park or fun in Cripple Creek; To the south: Bishop's Castle, Paddle Boats or Fishing on San Isabel Lake; To the west: The charming town of Westcliffe for groceries and shops, hiking and exploring in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, wonderful shops and restaurants in Salida and Skiing at Monarch Ski Resort; To the east: Old Pueblo, The Garden of the Gods, fine Dining in Florence or Colorado Springs.

If you prefer you can sit on the front porch or in the back yard and listen to the quiet, read a good book or try to count the million stars in the clearest sky imaginable.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway
We had such a great time on our weekend away. The cabin exceeded our expectations; it was so cozy and clean and had everything we needed. Lots of wildlife and amazing views to take in, and so quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend this location.

weekend getaway
The wife and I had a great time at the Hideway! The driveway was plowed of deep snow. I used my truck to get their and only had to use 2WD even though the truck had 4WD. The owners were great! A great place to stay for our anniversary weekend. Our only visitors were 8 deer and they just looked at us. Nice and relaxing! Hated to leave and was hoping to get snowed in, but sunny skies all weekend.

4 wheel drive needed
The area was gorgeous but the listing didn't mention 4 wheel drive was needed. Maybe we were naive but many other listings mentioned that. The property is located in a valley so we thought we would be fine getting there since it wasn't up in the mountains. However, it is located on county roads that are not maintained. We dealt with that part but the driveway had fairly deep snow that our Traverse could not handle. My husband was able to get us unstuck but then we struggled to get back to town by spinning out on a hill. It was worrisome due to no cell reception and it being fairly secluded. The owner was kind enough to give us our money back so we could find new accommodations which I am very grateful for.

Great Getaway!

Awesome cabin off the beaten path
We loved the cabin. Very cute, warm during the night, secluded, and beautiful scenery. Only issue we had was with the Vrbo App, which is not a reflection of the owner. The Vrbo app does not seem to work on the phone and has constant issues. I am only able to leave a review or communicate thru the computer.

A Quiet Getaway
The house is very spacious and well furnished. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the fridge is well stocked with condiments. The views from the floor to ceiling windows were wonderful. Loved watching the birds (saw robins, bluejays, chickadees & hummingbirds), rabbits, chipmunks, deer, and even had a cow visit us.

This cabin/ home is absolutely wonderful. Private, beautiful property! The drive in ( we came from TX and through Canon City) was breathtaking.. one portion up and down a mountain piece was a little scary for me but I'm a chicken so it's probably fine for everyone else. Living areas were SO comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need/ want. Lavonne truly thought of everything! We felt right at home the minute we walked in the door. Thank you so much Lavonne for opening up your beautiful cabin to us, we enjoyed it so much...we did NOT want to leave!!!

We enjoyed our short stay at this peaceful cabin. It was easy to find with the directions but is definitely outside of town. We brought our own food , cooked, read and played pool. The quiet is worth the stay. We would stay here again.

Our stay was great. We enjoyed the peace and quite. Got to see a lot of wildlife while we stayed on the property. No cell service which was fine. Wifi was listed but no internet connection. Hideaway getaway
Overall the cabin and property is secluded and tucked away in the wet mountains. Cabin has everything you need. The big windows give beautiful views of the surrounding area. Loved sitting out on the deck. The hummingbird feeder gave lots of entertainment as it was very active.

Hideaway is a great name
What a wonderful retreat. Not too close to town, but not too far. Feels like you’re the only ones there. Beautiful scenery, great wildlife (lots of deer), picturesque evening skies. Lovely. Feels like camping but with lots of convenience (kitchen, bed, bath)! Would love to stay again someday.

Great location with privacy and nature all around! Cabin had everything you needed for a nice comfortable stay. We cooked most of our meals there and never struggled for kitchen items. Very clean and warm cozy place. Only drawback was the cabin warming up to 80 degrees during the day so to large windows facing the sun.
