“From booking to check-out, it has been a wonderful experience and we didn't want to leave!We're the "city" type of people so we had pre-arrival jitters. Dan, the host/owner, gave good instructions for arrival, and boy, what a fantastic stay it was!!It's a beautifully refurbished 1500's house (see the plaque at the house) with wifi, mains electric, heating, hot water, showers/toilets, modern cooker and under counter fridge.Want to reconnect to Mother Nature? “We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were very accommodating and showed us through the house upon arrival. The location was amazing within walking distance from all the major attractions. We spent lots of time up on top floor patio that looks out over the river and the foot bridge. We will definitely be back. ”

“We have used Hotels.com many times and Sykes cottages a number of times this past year al very good and this was excellent. The booking was easy but the owner of this cottage was excellent in communication and instructions ( Gaynor ) there isn’t enough I could say and we had the privilege of meeting her when she did midweek check on jacuzzi. The kitchen well designed for easy use and very well equipped with everything. Bed really comfortable. We do a lot of walking so the jacuzzi was a massive……

“We had a wonderful week in Douglas Cottage. We loved the fantastic basket of goodies provided on our arrival. The Cottage was beautifully presented and in spotless condition. Beds and furnishings are very comfortable and every need is provided for. A quiet peaceful place to return to and relax in the evenings. Excellent, would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Chester.”
