“I had travelled up from Bournemouth on the evening of 16th June to the Aubrey Hotel. The hotel was very well known to me, because I had lived in Hemel Hempstead for many years. And the hotel's reputation had always been good. When arriving in the evening i was unable to find a parking place. The car parks were full and other visitors had parked all over the place. The road on entering the premises was very poor the road had large pot holes and cracks in it. And because of this I had to block……

“No elevator. Couldn’t stay. Checked in and checked out as soon as we went up 3 stories to our room. I am 85. My wife is 84. I asked for a ground floor room and none were available…. Was told”

“Great breakfast apart from the 'economy' grade fruit juice.”

“Last minute booking made at 8pm by 11.30pm was at the property and no lockbox enaul had been forwarded so could not get into the property. Had to find alternative accomodation as could not waitcany longer for the info as no indication my issue was being addressed. Finally received the lockbox email at 12 30am 4.5hrs after the booking. Would not advise last minute/evening bookings for this venue.”

“Work retreat organised a few months ago.. Absolutely flawless check in, staff went out of their way to make our stay fun and memorable. Beautifully renovated with old and new features. The spa area was so refreshing. Would highly recommend booking the suites as really good value for money as all extras including spa access are included. You also get a private living space including an outdoor shared hydrotherapy pool which is great for a large group or family.”

“Communication was non-existent - despite sending plenty of messages through the Expedia app, in the end I only got to speak with the owner when I was stood right outside the property. The beds are next level uncomfortable - very springy and one of them had a proper dip in its middle. Not recommended.”

“The property is small and cozy as described, facilities are tidy and clean. We couldn’t receive the check-in instructions until we call at check-in time, the problem is solved quickly. A reminder that the toilet door is a reused old front door, that means when you lock it, you should lift the handle up first and then turn the button. The shower door needs a bit hard push to lock and avoid water came out. Overall is satisfactory! If a mirror added inside door the wardrobe, it would be……
