The hotel itself is lovely. It’s much larger than it looks from the street. I was offered the opportunity to upgrade to a suite for $50, and as it was a special occasion I took it.
The room was nice. Beds comfy. Shower, and shower gels etc were awesome.
Main room with couch and fireplace was nice. The couch was old and not super comfy. There was a small space as well with kitchen amenities, which was great.
My complaint comes in for the rooftop hot tub area. We specifically booked this hotel for this, as well as the fact that it was a completely non smoking hotel, as smoke is very rough on me.
A group of men were sitting around the poolside fire for well over an hour smoking cigars. There were several people in the hot tub drunk with wine bottles and glasses. Did we complain? To the front desk, yes. Quite firmly but polite. We were told that is not allowed and someone would be up shortly. We waited around for a while to enjoy the hot tub and fire. No one came, and my lungs couldn’t handle it. As this was THE SPECIFIC reason we booked here, it was also disappointing. Mild add on, ours was the only room apparently that didn’t have robes for the hot tub/spa area.
I would love to stay here again, but I don’t know if I will. Very expensive and disappointing.
