The host/owner was so friendly and made it. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was well priced and delicious. we loved the butterfly farm and all of the animals and the kids got to feed the animals. Loved all the animals and they were more than happy for you to interact with them. Could not use the kettle as it was filthy and had to go to the tavern for dinner (which was excellent) as nothing on their menu seemed to be available. Interesting and hands-on for the kids - get up close and feed the various animals. Restaurant provides homestyle meals - they're alright, but Gordon Ramsay wouldnt be impressed. The 'no outside food or drinks' note in the hotels.com listing is a bit aggressive. It only applies to the restaurant, so you can byo whatever you want to your rooms. If you're travelling with kids, ask for a cabin near the front so you dont have to trek through the park. Told there was no hair dryer available though listed in description. Cabin and bathroom could use some more storage and bench space. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and tidy. Owner is quite quirky - lovely guy. The artwork on the room walls is just as unique. Its well done and fits in with the theme of the place. I reccommend staying there if you're planning to visit the farm anyway. At night the extra wildlife comes out and you get to frolick with the frogs and the lizards. The rooms are simple but the outdoor areas are lovely. Helpful staff and generally relaxed vibe.
