“The property has no staff or management on-site overnight. We checked in as normal but when we returned at 11 pm our room cards would not work. We rang the button outside the office - you could hear the phone ringing for two minutes, then it disconnected. Tried that more than a few times. Also called the phone number to reach the hotel several times - also no answer. Called Expedia, they could not reach hotel staff. Expedia attempted to get us another hotel room in Nevada City, no other hotels……

“Lovely establishment, cute room, easy stay. Would’ve liked a coffee maker or electric kettle to boil water for tea, but the mini-fridge in the room was rather spacious compared to most hotel rooms. Very little noise from outside could be heard, so the nights were peaceful.”

“We really enjoyed our stay here and plan on staying here again if we travel to the area. Gave staff helpfulness 3 stars because there is no staff on site. Check in is done digitally and you're given an access code for the room.”

“Beautiful apartment on a mountain above the very charming town of Downieville : ) Note: it's a very steep drive up to the house (and a very challenging walk!!!) so good to be aware of that - i.e. it's not within "strolling distance" of town, though technically not so far away! Absolutely lovely location though...waling up to a view of the pine-covered mountain directly oppsite is Just Amazing <3”
