There's lots on offer in Nong Ri, but head farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Grab a set of wheels and you can roam around the surrounding region at your own speed. Add these awesome places to your list:

• Bangkok is about 45 miles from Nong Ri. Notable tourist attractions like Grand Palace should be at the top of your list here.
• Your next pit stop? Make it Hua Hin, which is around 90 miles away. Hua Hin Railway Station is one local hot spot you won't want to miss.
• Mu Ko Chang National Park is located 130 miles from Nong Ri and is one of the region's most beautiful nature spots. Stretch your legs and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Thailand, then you might need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car.
