There's heaps to do in Puebla, but venture farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Rent a set of wheels and you can explore the surrounding region at your own pace. Add these fantastic destinations to your list:

• You'll discover Liberia Parque Central and lots more interesting sights in Liberia. From Puebla, it's approximately 100 miles away.
• Around 50 miles away, Puntarenas is also a hit with travelers. Be sure to get to Puntarenas Pier while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love visiting this city.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Costa Rica, then it's likely you'll need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car. It's also important to note that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll be asked to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of ID as well.
