Sassafras has plenty to keep you on the move, but don't restrict yourself to one place. Book a set of wheels and hit the road to explore the wider area. Here are a few places to choose from:

• Hobart is roughly 120 miles from Sassafras. Top-rated tourist attractions like Cascade Brewery should be high on your list while you're in town.
• Your next pit stop? It has to be Launceston, which is around 35 miles away. Cataract Gorge is one local draw card you shouldn't miss.
• Make your way to Wilsons Promontory National Park to rediscover nature. Take a picnic to enjoy or just relax and unwind. From Sassafras, it's roughly 160 miles away.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Australia, then it's likely you'll need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car.
