Sur Occidente offers adventures galore, but don't limit yourself to one place. Organize a set of wheels and take to the road to explore the wider region. Here are a few places to choose from:

• Head to Cartagena for a fantastic sightseeing experience. Roughly 60 miles from Sur Occidente, it's home to lots of inspiring attractions such as San Felipe de Barajas Castle.
• Situated 45 miles away, Santa Marta is also a hit with wanderers. Make sure you take in Rodadero Beach while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love staying a while in this vibrant city.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Colombia, then you'll likely need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car.
