We arrived and managed to contact the owner who said she hasn't had VRBO in years, didn't believe we had a reservation and didn't have anywhere for us to stay. She screamed at us to leave. The property was also way more run down than pictured.

Rustic!
The property was a bus, it was off the grid. The only warmth was a Franklin stove with no kindling. We had to supply it ourselves. There were no bedsheets or blankets just a mattress. We had to buy all the needed supplies to cover the bed. In addition, we had to cover the windows with purchased blankets. All in all it was an experience.
Go to bed at sunset, get up at sunrise. No noisy alarms, rest in your sleeping bag on top of the mattress, build a fire in the old cast-iron stove if needed, wave at your neighbor, but leave them alone. Great sky views, Perhaps especially at night. Zillions of stars come out. Highly recommended place for a solo retreat, as I took.
