A Kootenay’s treasure on the Columbia River!

Wolf’s Den on the River is a true treasure in the Kootenays! It’s a truly relaxing place where you can sit and watch the Columbia River, have a dip in the pool, or enjoy the peace. The rooms and amenities are superior, comfortable and have everything you would want. The hosts, Vi and Darrell, are gracious and friendly but also respect their guests’ desire for private space. Ver strongly recommended!

Great hospitality, you are part of the family (we joined the hosts for a glass of wine aorund the campfire at night). We had a brand new bedroom and bathroom with direct access to a living room and kitchen. The swimming pool was right outside our room and we had a great view on the river. We had access to the BBQ for a nice meal from garden overlooking the river.

Fabulous!

My stay was absolutely fabulous! Excellent location right on the river with access to fishing spots, amazing view, quiet, clean and relaxing. There is also a large swimming pool and a hot tub.The owners are super nice, friendly, and provided lots of great tips about local travel, activities and fishing as well (as this is my hobby). Will definitely stay here again for my future trips to the area. Would definitely recommend for anyone, including families.

A Hidden Gem on the River

This place is incredible. It’s the best place we’ve ever stayed, and we’ve stayed around the world. First, some clarification. The accommodations are in a house sitting just above the Columbia River east of Trail. There are 2 suites - each with a bedroom and bathroom. In between there is a common area with living room and dining room. It’s all modern, and it is fully furnished, and Vi and Darryl have done a superb job with the interior design and decorations. They supply the fridge, etc with a variety of options for snacks and breakfast. Everything is so thought out and there are so many nice little surprises. There’s a 65” TV in the living room and a smaller TV in each suite. The TV has cable plus streaming options (we used Netflix). And they have Alexa for music and other things. We were lucky - we were the only ones there so we had the whole place to Ourselves. The outside area is like a dream yard. There’s a pool, 2 hammocks, lounge chairs, a table and chairs, a bar, a fish pond, and I probably missed some things. It all overlooks the river and hills on the other side. Spectacular place to relax and savour. Vi and Darryl are great hosts. We sat and chatted for a couple of hours. We will definitely come back again next year.

We liked everything about our stay at the Wolf's Den. The hosts Vi and Darrell were gracious and made sure we had everything we needed. The view on the river and the property are beautiful. The suite is fully equipped and very well done with a confortable bed and an awesome shower. Vi had stocked the fridge with delicious breakfast options. We'd love to go back and try the river boat tours next time.

Feeling at home

We chose this B&B because it was right by the Columbia River and the pictures of the ground appeared to be nice. But in reality, the pictures did not do justice to the property. It was very serene, pristine and peaceful. For as picturesque and appealing as the surrounding was, the host and the hostess, Darrell and Viola, were even more pleasing, hospitable and friendly. They offered us an easy, enjoyable and comfortable 2-day staying experience that felt like at home. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

The perfect getaway

We stayed at Wolf’s Den on the River for an extended weekend and learned we were lucky enough to be the first guests to stay at this amazing place. Not only are the views from every area of the property absolutely breathtaking, but the careful attention to detail from the owners, Vi and Darrell, were second to none. The bedrooms and bathrooms were beyond clean and inviting and stalked with anything that a traveler may have forgotten to bring. The sitting room was very comfortable and relaxing for those cool September nights. We also realized that the beds were more comfortable than our beds at home. Both Vi and Darrell are such kind and welcoming hosts that we will definitely be going back not only for the amazing property and all it has to offer, but for the opportunity to spend time with new found friends. I would recommend a stay at Wolf’s Den on the River to anyone looking for a relaxing get away.
