“Lovely ‘simple self-catering’ in the heart of Dartmoor. Great set of appliances to have a nice coffee and brekky in bed! Coffee and non-dairy milk included - thank you Terry :) we really enjoyed our stay and had a super sleep. The hot tub looked inviting but the weather was just a bit too miserable for us to venture out there. Next time!”
“Lovely old building with nice staff and excellent food. Parking can be a problem and the tv system is on satellite and hardly ever works.

“Booked a valley castle room w king bed for one night in late Sep. Room was very clean with comfy n up to date decor. Room was big enough and soundproof quality was good. Big garden surrounded hotel n we took a pleasant walk the next day. Should have stayed for one or two nights so as to enjoy swimming pool and other facilities. The historical building was well maintained. Very pleasant stay ”

“The property doesn't have its own parking. There is free parking available on the street parallel to the entrance but this wasn't clear from the description.
I appreciated the keyless nature of the accommodation. The gate lock can be a bit tricky to open.
The room was clean and the bathroom was fantastic.
They provide some food in the small lounge but I couldn't see anything gluten free.”
“Friendly and accommodating staff - decor a bit tired - shower was broken on arrival but the staff were quick to sort it out. Clean, tidy and in a beautiful environment - lovely views from my balcony.
Breakfast was good - ordering in advance at a set time meant no waiting for hot food.”
