The only reason we gave a good overall rating instead of excellent because the bed needs to be replaced. Rolling into the center. Otherwise very happy with accommodations.

Staff very accommodating. Dog friendly; $25 dog fee per night. This is a long-term stay hotel so heard workmen on our floor going to work early and the smells of guests making breakfast in their rooms. But we would definitely stay there again. Beds are comfortable and rooms spacious.

This was our first time staying at this property, and we were quite pleased. Check-in was quick and seamless and the front desk girls were very friendly. The only downside is that we felt walls and floors were thin. You could hear people walking around above us. Overall a very nice hotel at this price point.

It was ok, clean, no frills, had a kitchen in the queen room. staff helped us a lot because they had difficulties getting our reservations with Expedia. More of a budget place to stay

This hotel is nothing short of AMAZING! The staff is incredible, the manager Artisha is a God send. The entire staff made me feel very welcoming. If anything was wrong they fixed it. if I needed any help, they helped me. I love booking here & highly recommend it to everyone! When I come here I don’t feel like I’m at a hotel, I feel like I’m home visiting family! The atmosphere is great here! You’ll be a fool to book anywhere else! Stay away from My Place
The general manager called me the day of to let me know they were overbooked and had no room for me. I had made my reservations 3 weeks earlier. I had make other arrangements that day while the Iowa state fair was going on, and rooms were almost all gone. Hotels.com did assist me, but I won’t book with My Place again.

It was clean and staff was pleasant. The only complaint or annoying factor was one of the kitchen drawers wouldn’t stay closed and needs repaired.

No kitchen equipment!
After 3 weeks of travelling US, we ended with the least satisfying experience. I have written only positive reviews at dobbel digit number of hotels, but not this time. We like My Place hotels in generel, men this one is somewhat worn out and the allocated room smelled badly (like a wet dog). We got another which was fine. However, No equipment was provided in the kitchen. What! A kitchen without pot, pans, plates etc. All Other hotels with kitchen proveded tool for cooking and eating for the last 3 weeks. This should be highlighted in the discription! We threw our delicious uncooked dinner in the garbage can (our last day before flying Home) and went to restaurant.

Unfortunately, due to state law we cannot provide any dishware/cookware since the rooms are not equipped with dishwashers. I'm sorry about that! I hope you'll give us another chance in the future.

When we arrived the room wasn’t ready. Once it was ready, we walked into the room and it had a horrible smell. We couldn’t get another room because none was available.

This is my first stay My Place hotels and if the rest were like this, I would highly recommend. Sierra at check in was very accommodating to my need for a close accessible room. She was also very informative about the restaurants and area. Pleasant and professional. The room was VERY clean with kitchenette, full size refrigerator and stove top. There were soap and paper towels provided, but no cooking or dishware. Linens were very nice and beds were comfortable. Good size room with plenty of space even with 2 Queens and a table and chairs. Nice cold AC. Room was quiet and it was next to lobby. The only negative was some road construction adjacent to hotel and breakfast is not included. But coffee was always fresh and available plus there were plenty of snack options for purchase. Kathy at check out was very pleasant too. I would recommend this hotel and will use it again if I'm traveling through the Des Moines area.

Nice, quiet hotel with a little pond nearby with picnic tables. Friendly staff and managers, would work directly with them again next time. Nice rooms with full size fridge and freezer, table with two chairs, and a recliner. Bed was cozy, AC adequate. Road/outside noises very minimal. Pet friendly but doesn't smell like pets.
